SUGGESTION FOR THE FORMAT OF WPS

Hello, my name is Jeanne, and I am an addict.

Last night was a rollicking Friday night, and we had company that arrived at 5:45. A good time was had by all, they left late, and we went straight to bed. At approximately 12:47, I awoke in a sweat, ARGGGGG, I forgot to do the WP. Since my husband already thinks I'm certifiable when it comes to Sploofus, I did NOT sneak out of bed and go to the computer. I awoke three more times throughout the night, with the same reaction. Finally, at 6:27, I awoke again, thinking, "oh, well, too late now" (I'm on MST). This did not make for a very restful night, nor was it the first time I've done this.

My proposal is that maybe WPs could be displayed in the same way as TQOTDs, though not for as long a time period. They accumulate and expire after ten days. Maybe WPs could be good for three days. This would also solve the problem that players have (I am among them) of going on weekend trips and scrambling frantically to find a computer to get the WPs in on.

Whaddya think?

I like this idea - I cannot think of any downside to it...the leaderboard for each puzzle should be able to stay posted with the puzzle; there might be more opportunities for sharing answers with more time, but those who want to cheat do so already anyway.

The only problem I see might be in the monthly leaderboard, where it is possible that someone could save up the last three of the month to work them into the next month's stats...and could then end up doing 6 more puzzles than someone else that month...but really, so what?? It's not like the Sploofus Leaderboards are getting anyone a promotion at work, or putting food on the table!

Good suggestion.

Or just make that tiny little answer box larger. Either way!

I like both ideas. I missed 7 puzzles this month by being out of town. Bigger answer boxes would solve one of my biggest problems and that is having no way to check for spelling errors on longer puzzles. Sometimes my spelling is OK but my bad habit of hitting a double key has resulted in a three move penalty. My very reasonable goal of finishing in the top 100 is at risk. :"(

Donden you can still check your answers. Just click in the box and then scroll back and forth
using the arrow keys. I'm bad about switching letters around when I type fast so I do that all the time.
I agree that a 2-line box would be nice though.

Thanks, I'll do it. Actually I type so slow that when I get to the end of a paragraph I have to go back to the beginning to see if I'm still on the same subject. Old age and Captain Morgan will do that you know.
