I am only curious: When someone submits a series of quizzes on the same topic usually numbered 1,2,3 etc.,
do all of them get edited by the same person or not?

Thank you.

Not necessarily. They're all in the queue, and they come out one at a time. If they were submitted in rapid sequence, an editor doing a few quizzes at once may get them, or an editor may just take on one quiz at a time anyway. I've seen consecutive quizzes from a series before, but there's no way that needs to happen.

I've had times when a newly submitted quiz had less than 10 ahead of it and times when they had well over 200. There's a lot of factors that cause it. There needs to be a LOT more uniformity on qualifying quizzes. Too many personalities seem to get involved at times. Most of the time I have no problem launching my quizzes, sometimes I really start feeling picked on and stop writing for a while. If it's right for one quiz, it should be right for all quizzes and visa versa. Dusty @};-

Dusty, this issue has come up a few times. I understand your frustration but you touched on one of the reasons for apparent differences in editing styles when you wrote that sometimes there are 10 and sometimes there are 200 in the queue. When we edit, we are much more likely to fix occasional errors (typos, capitalization errors, etc) when the queue is short. When there are hundreds of quizzes in the queue, we simply don't have the time to do that. Therefore, we'll return the quiz for the author to make those corrections. All editors use the SQAG-- Sploofus Quiz Authoring Guide-- as the basis for editing your quizzes. In case you haven't seen the SQAG, it's on the 'Create A Quiz' page. We do try to maintain consistency as we know it can be annoying for the quiz writer. However, we're all human (not robots nor monkeys, which has been suggested in the past).

The quiz queue works on a very simple principle of "First In, First Out" (FIFO). Quizzes appear to editors in the same order they enter the queue. If a person launches 3 quizzes back-to-back, and only one editor is working at the time they come to the front of the queue, then it is possible the same editor will see all 3 of them. If 2 or more editors are online, then it is likely that more than one editor will see them.

The only exceptions to this flow involves the CQ quizzes and resubmitted quizzes. CQ quizzes are pulled from the line as they appear and are set off to the side so they do not interfere with the flow of the queue in any way, shape or form. Unfortunately, they still appear in the count of the quizzes in the queue, so they inflate that number artificially between the time they are set aside and they are launched. The other exception is quizzes that were sent back to the author and then resubmitted. They go directly to the front of the queue, but can only be picked up by the editor who sent it back. Other editors continue to pick up quizzes from the normal FIFO flow. That is why, if a particular editor is out of town or otherwise occupied, a resubmitted can appear stuck for a period of time.
