SPLOOFUS SITE NAME IN TOP BAR!!!!!

In my bar at the top where you change sites, instead of www.sploofus.com it has the following...Wonder if this will be the name from now on and the new server or if it's temporary?

http://66.132.220.61/bbs_post.sp?cID=7

Could this have anything to do with the problems?
Does everyone else's say this in the bar?

Just a quick note. Me too, when I signed in I had to re-type user name and password, no problem there except in my address bar Sploofus does not appear, just a bunch of url numbers. Is this going to be the norm? Great job on trying to speed things up for us brain builders. RT

Thanks, Rocco!

Vickie says hers has the same thing, so I'm assuming everyone's does, but I guess until we hear from Justin, we won't know if it's temporary or what it means.

Mine is fine. I get a bunch of numbers for specific chat sites (preceded by www.sploofus.com), but if I'm "home," it's the regular URL.

I don't know what browser you're using, but everything looks normal to me. I'm on IE6.0.29 despite all the warnings to not use it. It's what I'm most comfortable with.

I did have log in problems this morning. Had the home page up all night as I normally do so that all I have to do is hit 'tab' and ''enter', but it wouldn't let me in. Closed the page,..re-fired the browser and all was well.

But for the record,..I too had the white screen after the Word Puzzle, backed up 1 page, resubmitted the puzzle, then was asked to sign in again. All was well after that.

Sploof said it would take a while to fine tune it and remove some glitches, but I'm guessing he's taking a little nap after being up all night before he gets back to wrenching on the site.

That's an IP address.

The server is so new maybe it hasn't been christened yet?

Welcome to the world, new server!

I clicked on the home page and it still has the numbers. I'm on Mozilla Firefox. I assumed everyone's address bar was the same, but I guess not.

I think I read somewhere where Justin had had (4) pots of coffee, so he may not be sleeping for awhile. LOL...

Every web page you go to is found by an ip address that looks like that. In simplified terms, a system called Domain Name System or DNS is used to allow people to type in a name and the server and your browser translate it to an ip address in the background automatically.

I just know the basics, so anybody can feel free to tell me I'm wrong. I'm married....I'm used to it. Anyway, I'm sure it's just a detail with the server change where a check box probably needs to be ticked and hasn't been yet. Even if the name displays as an ip, the DNS is still working and bringing you to the site.

I just noticed something extremely cool! When did we get the ability to post clickable links in a message? Only Sploof's messages have had clickable links before that I've noticed.

If you're talking about my post and the address coming up in red, I just typed it normal and it came up that way. Not sure if that's what you're talking about.

Yep, the link in red was what I was talking about. You used to have to copy and paste a link into your browser when somebody posted one. Now they're clickable.

Rob:

I don't know when it happened. The URL to frappr in your old December 2005 thread *** Sploofus Map *** is now a hyperlink, too!

Oh, but when I searched for the thread under your user name, it says it 'was' posted on 12/01/2006. So mark your calendar and remember to do it in a few weeks, will ya please?

Justin edited that one back then to be a hyperlink when he stickied the post at the top, because it didn't originally show up that way.
