I posted a seperate thread about my concerns about Quiz Authoring. As for technical problems, every so often my answers don't register. and I get a 90% instead of 100% because it says I didn't answer it.

not sure if that mistake is mine or the systems, or a combination of both, i.e. sometimes it is me, sometimes the system

Thanks.

In the middle of the quiz, after answering a couple of questions, after answering another, the page took 20 15 seconds or longer to load up the next page, therefore inflating the time on my taking the quiz. This happens every so often. Why is that?

I was thinking the same thing earlier Banomet. I thought it was me going crazy...I also don't see it in my recent quiz history. I thought it was strange that a quiz released sometime last night is already number one on the most popular list. At least most quizzes start out lower and move up daily, I know that's how it usually works with my own. If it is a glitch, then at least I know I'm not on this thing in my sleep

Several people have reported old quizzes being automatically reverted to the "build" stage. They relaunched them, and the quizzes were picked up by some very puzzled editors, and then sent live again, where they now show up as NEW quizzes but already with lots of takers.

This glitch is being discussed on the editor side and has been brought to Justin's attention.

So my guess is that you HAVE already taken that quiz; it could have been months or years ago!

I tried to take a quiz this morning, it popped up saying that i had already taken it, when i checked my taken quizzes it showed that I had taken it with no score just then.. which i did not, and yes I know better than to hit the key more than once

anyone think using a wireless keyboard could have an effect
i use windows xp service pack 2

internet explorer
and i am using a wireless keyboard with my laptop because well, in the last year i have had the keyboard replaced twice on the laptop, cheaper to use a wireless keyboard

If I navigate to any of the category pages, either through the Trivia Quizzes/By Category pulldown, or through clicking on the category when in the "Most Popular" quiz page, the Web Page Title (set, for example, with the Html "title" tag) is not appropriately set; rather, it will show the title of the last quiz I've taken, whatever that might have been.

I just took Iautah's Natural World Quiz. On the quiz description page, I noticed the results from those who had already taken the quiz. One result indicated that the quiz had been completed in 999,999,999.99 seconds. Given that the quiz hasn't been live for a gigasecond (could it really have been written before 1975?), I have to think there is a bug somewhere.

I just took Geniuswaitress's Mangled Plays quiz. I answered question 2 correctly, but it reported as incorrect, thus I received a 90% on the quiz. I backed up to double check, and yes, it was selected properly.

Also, 75% of the time that I take a quiz, I first receive the first question from the previous quiz I've taken. This gives me an unfair advantage and puts me on a different curve than other players. (If there are 10 questions, for example, I receive 11 questions, one of which I've already seen and know the answer to. If I then get 90% of the 10 questions correct, I get a score of 90.9% or something. This places me ahead of people who got 90% in much faster times.)

Or, conversely, if I get 100% correct, I get a slower time than other people because I had to answer an extra question.

Thank you.

When the screen turns white during a normal operation, I hit the back button...it goes back and all is well. Occasionallly it logs me out but usually it is a result of a bird landing on my line. However, a strange thing happens on Word Puzzles. it says I have taken this puzzle, shows me the list of scores and then with one more push of the back button I am back to my puzzle in progress and I am allowed to continue from where I went blank.

Most recent event: Jan. 14, about 14;40 with my earthlink dial-up line and a Safari browser on a iBook G4.

When authoring a quiz, if I go back to edit a question already completed, the screen ONLY displays wrong answers (five of them!). After editing the question, it will not allow you to submit it, saying, naturally, you need a correct answer, although the field for a correct answer is non-existent. This is a new phenomenon.

I just took Baggiobs quiz "Who Sang It? I". There were only supposed to be 10 questions, but 11 questions showed up and the timer graph went all the way past the bar. Also, there was one same question in there about 3 or 4 times, and another same one in there 2 times,I think. When I finished the last or 11th one, it said something about error, and that I had already answered that. I didn't get to rate it or anything.

Thanks,

For two quizzes in a row,the only two I have taken since it went back up, when it got to the third question- it was a repeat of the second question and when I answered it again- it told me "an answer has already been registered for this question". Needless to say the quiz ends because I cannot go forward nor back.

I am having the same problem as the others in this thread writing a quiz. Prior to the maintenance the correct answer in a quiz was always RED, which is probably what distinguishes it from the wrong answers when the editors receive it. However, now the correct answer is BLACK just like the wrong answers. Something is making it appear to be a wrong answer along with the other (4) wrong answers. I launched the quiz about Noon today (2/8/07) with 127 quizzes ahead of it at that time. I put an ALERT! at the very beginning to the Editor explaining the problem. I don't know if they can fix it or if they have any way of knowing what the correct answer is. If they can't fix it, I would like for them to please return it to me. The name of the quiz is "Classic Country Music Trivia Chest (4). I feel like if it gets in the system this way it will cause a lot more problems.

It may be possible that if people are launching quizzes with (5) wrong answers, and they're going live, that is the reason everyone is getting 0% on their scores, because according to the system, none of the answers are right. Does anyone else see the connection?

I just answered a question correctly but it was recorded as incorrect. I backed up to check that I had selected the correct response, and it was indeed checked properly.
The quiz was "Words to Old Time Songs."

I'm losing quite a few points from this recurrent problem, and I need all the help I can get!

Thank you.

try taking the quiz again- it usually registers for me the second time. You can rate a quiz twice though which is weird.

This hasn't happend to me before that I can remember. I finished a quiz of Tuzilla's and a quiz of Swiper's. Everything was normal until I clicked on to rate the quiz. It kicked me out of the quiz, couldn't rate it, and I got a message saying I had already taken the quiz, which I hadn't on either one of them.. If I tried to go back, it still wouldn't let me rate either one of them.

In regard to my above post: I just went back and checked. The quiz by Swiper is Bon Jovi Lyrics, and the one by Tuzilla is What happened - 1904? Both of these quizzes are showing a 0% rating not for the takers as in the past, but on the right where the rating is for the quiz author.

These are on the Newest 30 Quizzes!

It is now 9:21 EST on Wednesday, 3/29/07. As of this time, the last (8) quizzes to go live are registering 0% for the Quiz Authors. Everything below these appear to be normal ratings. This is all pertaining to the above (2) posts. Hope this helps!

Thanks Marilyn, for your concern and your post. Hopefully this will be worked out so as not to penalize the quiz maker or the quiz taker. I took your quiz earlier tonight and it kicked me off Sploofus altogether! Now the quiz is blocked off to me like I had already taken it. Very Frustrating. I would've liked to have been able to take and rate this quiz, among others.

I keep finding 'work arounds' to the ubiquitous 'my question didn't take' problem. Log off...log back on and there it is. If you simply go back a page and hit lost the question, you will get it twice. I have had this problem a lot...particularly after being on for a while. It seems the island is tired of me. When I re-log on it is friendly again.
