I have noticed some people are deliberately scoring 0 on my quizzes. Why do they do this? I don't know what they are rating my quizzes - is there a way to check? Should these players be allowed on Sploofus?

Deliberatling scoring 0?
Presumably you mean that they have a really fast time on it or something.

Look on the bright side though someone scoring 0% means your quiz difficulty increases so you get more points next time someone takes one of your quizzes.

Sometimes I start a quiz and after a couple of questions lose interest in it so just randomly guess the rest.

Do you mean an actual 0%, or do you just see a % sign with no number? I think that if someone ditches your quiz before they are finished with all the questions (either because of a Splooferror or because they didn't care for the quiz) they are recorded just with a % sign, but with no number. To get a zero they would actually have to get every question wrong.

I have been guilty of leaving a quiz after the first question or two for various reasons. I didn't think it had any effect on the quiz itself. Sometimes the quiz title is misleading or there are long delays for answers to register. Not lately for the latter though. I will probably continue the practice rather than be bored/intimidated by the questions. Being an old fart some of the music based quizzes are a little over my head even though I consider myself a "charter" rock 'n roller. Onward and upward!

I have had a bomber on my quizzes go through and just click submit on each question without answering so he could get to the end and give me the lowest score possible.

0% means that the player didn't get any questions right - whether by answering wrong or just not answering at all.

I've noticed on the results pages for my quizzes that sometimes someone will only have registered an answer for the first couple of questions, the rest being unanswered - I'd always assumed that was someone who did a couple decided they didn't like it and backed out. I've done that once or twice myself.

I've also had ones where they've registered no answers at all, but I didn't think about why - just assumed it was as above but backed out before even answering the first one!

If someone does that it doesn't affect your rating at all - probably ups the difficulty rating for that quiz, but doesn't affect your rating. The only time it would affect yours is if, as Eesus said, they clicked straight through and gave you a bad rating at the end.

By the way, Eesus, if you know that for a fact (the 0% player gave you a bomb rating) I hope you reported it!

I *think* the bombers don't affect your overall score......I *think* Justin made provision for that some time back. You will see a red "Bomber Alert" on the profiles of the nasty folks who wanna cause harm to your quiz ratings.

If a player scoring 0% gives you a nasty score it doesn't get counted, you mean? I haven't noticed my quiz's rating changing particularly when there's a 0%-er, so you may be right.

Unfortunately, I have had a player take the quiz normally, albeit without a particularly good score, and give it a totally uncalled-for 1 at the end (on a CQ, what's more!) and that *did* affect the rating - very much so! He did it when the quiz was new and had only had four players, and the others had written to me saying they'd given it a 9, so I knew exactly who it was. I know why, too, but that's neither here nor there.

Actually, to be quite honest, now the quizzes are edited before they're released I don't think the options for rating them say 1-4 are relevant any more - if a quiz genuinely wouldn't rate a minimum say 5, I don't think the Editors would have let it be released!

OK thanks, so there is no way to know what ratings other people give you regardless of their score?

No, and it's best it stays that way, otherwise people won't give their honest opnion anymore.

However, now you can sort the results on a quiz to show the most recent takers first, you can get a pretty good idea of who caused a sudden change in your ratings it you notice it soon enough after it happens.

I just wanted to add one possibility for seeing a % score with no number in front of it. This has happened to me so I can assume that it has happened to others. When taking a quiz I clink on an answer then the submit button and go to a blank page. I try to go back but "you have already taken this quiz" comes up and you can't get back into the quiz. If you are on question #1 or question #10 the results are the same.

The %0 also appears on the summary when a person double clicks the answer. respondant is caput, the quiz is over and the score is whatever was achieved at that moment. The degree of difficulty includes this score (I have gotten these in the first three answers) and the person is awarded a terrible score for points on sploofactor but might get a good time.
