Just out of curiosity, has Justin found a way of removing the launched CQs from the queue while they wait for the release date?

Reason I ask is I released a quiz yesterday (non-CQ) and the queue said there were 26 quizzes ahead of it - with 14 or so CQs in the queue I thought, great, that means there's only about 12 or so quizzes ahead of mine, it'll be out in no time.

However, now, 24 hours later, there have been at least 24 quizzes released since then, but mine still says 18 quizzes are ahead of it!

Even allowing for some quizzes being with editors, ie out of the queue but not yet released, that seems a little unlikely - unless the CQs are no longer counted in the queue figure?

The Community Quizzes go into a separate pile. We edit them and set them aside, so that they will all be released together. We are up to date with all the December Community quizzes, so don't worry about what the queue says.

So the CQ quizzes no longer 'skew' the numbers on the queue, then? There are actually 18 odd quizzes ahead of mine *other than* the CQ ones? That was what I was asking (I only used my own quiz, a non-CQ one, as an example).

That answer I am not sure of. I don't know if the quizzes in that pile are counted as being in the queue. My guess is that they actually are counted in, but that is just a guess. In any case, you can tell exactly how many there are in that pile by counting the number of people who posted that they launched their December Community Quiz.

Thanks, Sploofinder, but that's what I did - if you glance back at my original post, there were 26 ahead of mine (a NON-CQ one, although I did release a CQ one at the same time), and at the time 14 CQs noted as launched.

Yet there have been 24 quizzes released since then and there are *still* 18 ahead of mine. The numbers just don't add up!

I can't imagine that the editors were hanging on to that many quizzes, were they?!!

By the way, I'm not complaining or anything, just curious as to how it works!

Quizzes are in fact currently being edited very quickly indeed, within 24 hours.

Theoretically, at worst, your quiz might have been picked up by an editor who has not yet passed it but has gone off to Vegas for 3 months!

Not likely! But something similar but far less drastic could be the cause.

If you're truly concerned, why not give the quiz name here and maybe the appropriate editor would see the post and answer? (But your quiz may well then be passed beforehand!).

Thanks, Sirsploof, in fact it has already been released now, but that wasn't what I was asking - it was how the numbers that were currently the case could have happened, and whether the CQ quizzes had been 'removed' from the queue, so if there are, say, 14 CQ quizzes and my quiz says there are 18 ahead of it, does that mean there are actually just 4 ahead of it or there are 18 besides the CQ quizzes?

I still don't know the answer to that one, but then I gather nor do you (as in you, the editors)! As I said it was just curiosity.

Thanks anyway!

It's possible that what happened was that while your quiz was sitting in the queue and a few new quizzes were released, other people who had previously had their quizzes sent back resubmitted them. Those would now be "owned" quizzes, and counted as in front of the "unowned" quizzes, even though an owned quiz is not so much in front of yours, as in a priority position for the one editor who had previously reviewed it.

Another possibility is that some Community Quizzes were submitted and grabbed by the editors for their special processing, which jumped them ahead onto the "owned" list.

Berylm this may help. I was one of the first to release my community quiz, and it was returned for some adjustments. I fixed it the next day, and resubmitted it it says there are 7 ahead of it, and it has said 7 for over a week so I am assuming they do count in the waiting list as I have no other quizzes waiting for release. Either that or my Editor did go to Vegas for real lol. Rocco
