I am writing this because of another thread I have just read.
My current plan is to write quizzes and launch quizzes until I become the most prolific quiz author. I will continue to do this by launching 3 quizzes each into three different categories no more than once a day.

Once I have reached the top (and I mean being ahead by only 1 quiz) I will then not be writing many quizzes and in fact I will by that time only be writing quizzes to try and receive more Editors Awards.

I have noticed other users in the past have written lots and lots of quizzes and are now no longer members. I have heard of one who wrote over 1000 quizzes and is now gone. I do not know the reason why but I could hazard a guess.

Anyway just thought I would put this in black and white.

In side talk with Alistair he has lived up to his word. Like many, I write quizzes for fun. I do not wish to be on top of anything...well maybe my dear I am not interested in how many are written...I think quality is a good goal. However, after my quizzes on "Book of Virtues" and "Winston Churchill" I had to include popularity as a goal as well. Where is Goldtiger anyway?

Well, you're well on your way - I could only find three people ahead of you, although you've got to write over 400 to pass Tuzilla (and that only if she doesn't write any more in the meantime)!

However, I only found 9 of the top 10 quiz authors on the leaderboards (as below, including yourself, of course) - I may have missed one but I don't think I did! - so what I want to know is, how are you going to find out how many the last one has written, in order to be sure of being No 1?!

Tuzilla 1244
Vlcrowe 1238
Dwayla 879
Baggiob 813
HelsleyM78 774
Philkon 653
Goonies 574
Bravegator 543
Bigtombow 511

Looks like you missed one.

And as soon as 3 of my 4 waiting quizzes go live, I will have 476. My 4 waiting ones have been pending for 2-3 days, and I feel the need to see them go live before I do more. I've been trying to copy Baggiob's plan, but I get bored after doing 1 quiz at a time.

Nope, Babes is only marked as being in the Top 50, not the Top 10.

Still looking for that elusive last one!!

Berylm, I was just going on what it says on the front page. I noticed that when I was in 10th on that it still had me as a top50 author, it may just be the system that is slow.

If you click on the Sploofus logo on top to get to the new quizzes, it shows newest members and top 10 quiz authors along the left side of the screen, along with some other stats. Babes is listed as #10 there.

Well, in that case the 'Top 10' markers on the profiles are only on the Top 9!!

Interesting ...!

Good luck with the plan. Do you have enough quiz topics to keep you going or do you want to take topic requests?

Well I think I have enough topics to see me through but I am always open to suggestions for one off topics. So let me know.

Would just like to say a big congratulation to Maurlin for now being on the top 10 author list.

Well Done

I have had enough of writing quizzes. For the forseeable future the only quizzes of mine that will be going live are the ones that I have already written but not yet launched. Any of these quizzs that are sent back to me will not be changed but just be deleted.

Maybe in the future I MAY start writing quizzes again but at the present I will not.

Has something happened or are you just tired of writing quizzes?

Mskillan, in answer to your question, I will say a bit of both.
I actually have enough questions to make up enough quizzes but sometimes cannot be bothered.
Also for the numerous people who send me messages saying they like my quizzes (and there has been many) it only takes one or two to put a spanner in the works.
It seems that writing a lot of quizzes annoys some people.

Here is another thought, think of how many people were members of Sploofus this time last year and look at how many there are now. What about in a years time? and even beyond that?
THe more members there are the more people there are to write quizzes. In that case we will see a lot more quizzes going into each category and exposure time will drop dramatically.

Anyway in the new year I will at some point be back writing quizzes.

Bags - if it's your thing to write a lot of quizzes, then have at it - it is great to have that much time, energy and passion. People love your quizzes. Many of them I have taken and enjoyed. You hit a variety of topics, many of which I am not interested in, however, others enjoy sports and world history, science, etc. Your quizzes appeal to a variety of folks.

If you are tired of writing quizzes, that's one thing, by all means, take some time off. However, if it's something that you derive recreational pleasure form and it bolsters your writing skills, please continue.

I write as I can, my schedule if pretty full. I might go in bursts with a bunch of quizzes, or I might write one or two here and there.

Please don't get discouraged because others get frustrated with themselves. (That's what it is you know - when people can't "compete" they tend to hurl insults to keep you down, so they don't feel so bad). This is not a competition it is a recreation. The personal challenge that you have set, well, that's cool - Number one is a lofty goal considering Tuz will likely want to keep the number one spot. (personally, I enjoyed number one on quiz authors spot the month you took off, thanks).

Make Sploofus something you enjoy, don;t get caught up in others issues where they place you as a source of there own reflection, i.e., inability to achieve the same, therefore your the bad one.

My personal and professional 2 cents.
