RATINGS DONE IN BY NEW MEMBERS

I just had a new quiz go live - so far it has only had 2 takers, and they are both really new members. One is at level 1.0, and the other at 1.1. Bottom line, my poor new baby quiz (Humans of Sesame Street) has a rating of 3. I've never had a quiz have a rating of 3. I assume that it is not going to stay there, but it is a bit unsettling.

It got me to wondering if new members should be barred from scoring quizzes till they get to level 2.0. That way, they would have a chance to get familiar with the site and what to expect, without doing anyone any harm.

Any thoughts??

Alice

I take your point completely.
However each and every person has the right to rate a quiz depending entirely on what they think of your quiz.

Although I bet you what really happened is one of the people who took your quiz rated your quiz a 6 and the other did not rate it all, thus giving it an overall rating of 3. I have noticed that a few times.

I really don't think it is something that you should worry about in the long term because I am sure you realise it will soon gain an average rating that it deserves.

Take care.

Not at all worried; just wondering if it might be a good idea for people to wait till they see what's going on to rate things. I remember when my daughter joined the site, she was giving quizzes scores of 5s cause she thought that was a good number. After I yelled at her, she saw the light. LOL

I am glad that there are only a few days left in 2006. Reason being this is the second time in 365 days that I have agreed with the 'Bagger'. Merry Christmas!
