My resolution this year is to continue to do as I please regardless of the possible negative effect on my health or wealth. I made a resolution to quit smoking for many years and failed miserably until I stopped the resolution. I have been smoke free for 15 years. Anybody out there setting any lofty goals? Good luck!

No, but I am glad you used the word "goals." People make hard and fast, but well-intentioned, resolutions and they're usually broken by noon, January 1st, leaving one feeling hopeless and running back to old habits. I think well-thought out, realistic goals for the coming year is a good thing...blanket resolutions, i.e., "I will stop swearing at 12 midnight" ..."I will live on bread and water until I lose 100 lbs."
is really dumb. It is my hope that whatever aspirations Sploofus players have for the coming year, will be realized in 2007. Happy New Year everyone!

I do remember a quote from a "famous" person who's name i cannot remember--

"Success is going from failure to failure without a loss of enthusiasm".

Onward and Upward

I quit smoking 13 years ago......and need a couple of new goals.

I have a couple of life-adjustments in mind......and am fairly resolved in achieving 'em as my New Year's resolution.

I plan on working harder with my physical therapy;
I will try not to be such a control freak;
I want to make sure that every day, the people I love know how much I care about them;
I will try to be more patient and jump to conclusions less;
I am going to try to suppress Adult Lodi as much as I can;
I will hug more often;
I'm going to spend 2007 laughing until my stomach hurts.

I know there's more things but that's a good start.

Happy New Year!

Lodi - you are sooo funny! Good luck with your goals for the new year - especially the therapy part because that's VERY important!

I have as my goals to learn something about history, something about geography, something about world events, something about science, something about music, something about popular culture, and with some divine help, something about sports. I'm really bored with missing so many TQOTDs. By this time next year I'll know SO MUCH TRIVIA!!

Oh, and I'd like to do something important this year, too. Soon, any day now, the clouds will part and whatever it is will be revealed to me. I'm ready...

(can you tell I'm sick of cooking, car pools, and cleaning?)

May we all have small, possible goals that yield big, happy results!

Gosh, Cypress, you'll know so much we will be in awe. You go girl! Now, my goal is actually see a blue page in WM's! I haven't even had a chance to fail!

Oh, Geophile, that reminds me. Another goal for me is to see a gold patch. I've failed it many times but if I could have one more try . . .

Here's to your blue diamond and my yellow nugget! And everyone else's too, of course!

Me too Geo! I play 4 days a week and since the gems were initiated in Oct ( I believe) I have NEVER seen a gem! Yet others get them almost every time they play. Despondently yours, Hunny

Mine is apparently to get back to zero Sploofus points. Almost halfway there!

No gems or golden nuggets for me either I must play an average of 60 times/day each day. Summthin' fishy goin' on here, methinks. I think those of us who are undecorated need to start a club.

I'll join Alice. I've never even seen the blue or gold screen, and only gotten the green ghoul once (and of course didn't win).

How do you get the patches and gems? I see them, but they elude me.

I think supposedly the gems are random. But it seems that several of the same folks consistently get them. I have never found one either. You have to play WR or WM and if you find one the page turns either blue or yellow.
