I remember a thread that talked about only 50 to 60 people playing WordRounds and WordMatch per hour. I searched but could not find it. Does any anyone have an idea on why the percentage of players is so small in relationship to 22,000 members?

Maybe they do not find this interesting. I don't. I tried couple times just so it doesn't say "no score this month" in WR category. But it is not fun for me.
Another question is: How many out of 20,000 people are active users every day? What is a criteria for the "active"?

Well, I do not play every day since I work three 12 hour shifts a week and have a family. However, I consider myself an active player since I at least do all my TQOTD, usually a WP and some WR and WM. Obviously, some are on here consistently and some are just on ocassionally during the week. I think at least signing in 2-3 times/wk is active.

I don't know about the WR player thread, but I am pretty sure that people who don't log-in at all for 30 days have their accounts closed (although it might be 60, or longer). So anyone who logs in at least once a month is considered "active".

The 22,000+ represents only ACTIVE players, which is why you sometimes see that figure go DOWN instead of up...if we've lost more players on one day than we gained.

I have also noticed (by skimming people's profiles and leaderboard stats) that a lot of people seem to do nothing but answer their TQOTD. To each his own, I say. Me, I play just about everything here

I think that it is real variable for most people. For myself, some months, I get real active--writing lots of quizs, taking lots of quizes and making runs on the various other leader boards. Other months, I don't do much at all. It depends on all sorts of variables. But, I always look forward to the question of the day. I can see why many people would be satisfied just to do that.

I'm like Mindmonkey-- sometimes I play often, other times not so much.

When I first joined, I played WR constantly and even made the Top 3 for the month a few times. Eventually I got burnout. Good thing, because the next round of obsessive WR players have some sort of superpowers that I do not possess. I was thrilled to get a sub-20s score, because I'd usually win that round. Now you have to get in the mid-teens or hope that a glitch occurs during the round and you get a 7 sec score (happened to me once).

As for WM, they give me a headache. WM are not fun at all for me. Maybe I haven't figured out the right way to play... but I suspect my eyes and hand-eye coordination are starting to wane. I'll be 40 next year. I find myself squinting to see things clearly. See what you started, Fenixfelix? Now I'll have to phone my shrink.

I don't do particularly well on either WM or WR's but I prefer the WM's. And I have a little button on my address bar that allows me to enlarge the font of my browser, so I always make it extra extra big when I play either of these games.

I can read other pages okay, but for speed and accuracy, I need the words (and circles) to be bigger!

I really like WR and WM-often get frustrated and quit in the middle of wordpuzzels-most likely because I am a slow inaccurate typist. I take quizzes that I think I might know a bit about and avoid others. I like writing quizzes but have to stop for periods of time because it becomes like a job or something I must get done-thus not fun Linda
