CENSORSHIP

In a recent message to Sploofus support I mentioned if that Sploofus editors are requiring certain punctuation then what is next in the form of censorship. Now I know the answer. The post I entered earlier this week has been removed after than 80 relies and over 900 views. Big brother is revealed and his real name is Sploofus.

Yep, that is how it goes. They come for your neighbors, then your friends, then YOU

Remember...If you think you're just paranoid...it doesn't mean they're not after you.

According to Merriam-Webster to censor is "to examine in order to supress or delete anything considered objectionable".

First, I don't believe punctuation would fall into the objectionable category. Second, how does ADDING/REQUIRING punctuation relate to censorship which is the removal of something?? They are completely opposite concepts.

Removing the chat thread, on the other hand, is a form of censoring. But Sploofus has every right to do so. Last I heard Sploofus was not a democracy. Although Sploofus tries to make everyone happy and does make an effort to listen to member opinions, Mr Sploofus has the right to delete/change anything he so chooses.

I had a post removed a week or so ago. I questioned Sploofus about it on a support ticket, and got an answer. While I didn't quite agree with the reason, I do, at least, know what Sploofus was thinking when it was removed. Why don't you try that instead of trying to stir up trouble. It is possible there is a good reason for it. I don't think Sploofus makes it a habit of removing posts out of hand, otherwise, there would be a whole lot of people questioning it. Is it possible, with more than 80 replies, that your thread was one of those that got ugly and hostile? We have seen a few of those here to be sure.

Hmm. You've given me an idea. When my daughter has answers marked wrong on a paper, I could accuse the teacher of censorship! Yeah, right.

Could be that sploofus had alot of support tickets for that particular post-giving reasons why it should be taken off-it did not bother me in the least, but, of course,it might have bothered other people...
