I am starting a new club for those of us who play, even if is not 24/7, and have never seen a gold or blue gem or even a green ghoul for that matter. There will be a free open bar, sea salt massages, and lounging chairs in front of 52 inch plasma TVs for those who remain gemless.

No bling for me.

I have seen the Green Ghoul twice, but haven't been able to find out what happens if you beat the clock...

With the green ghouls, if yuo manage to get more than 10 right in the time, you get a certain amount of points. get over 15 and you get more. I have never got all 20 though (my best is 17)

Kelly? How's your "WR 90% Club" membership doing?

Do you feel like becoming President of another WR faction: "The WR Goldless'n'Gemless"?

VOTE: Kelly ONE..Now!

I don't even know what a gem is for. But I'll help with the margaritas please.

I'll join ... sigh. Never even seen a blue or gold screen - and yes, I did play 'properly' for quite a while trying to see one! I've given up on the WRs and WMs now, too.

Pass the margharitas.

Unless of course this "club" has the word "anonymous" in the title...

Then...I am "persona non grata"

Can we convene some place where it is warm? Some place where there are no gold nuggets, blue diamonds, or any other prizes...oh wait, that's here. Count me in.

Here's what I don't get. I am in the top 20 quiz takers...I see green ghouls all the time and, you know what? I skip right over them. They are stupidly impossible and a real time waster. I have had a bed pan screen 3 x - successful once, missed the others by 1. Have yet to see one blue page - hope I don't as I will probably have cardiac arrest to see something so rare. The point I am making? Who cares?

As far as WR and WM goes, how about taking the combined score in your round of say 10 tries and giving a person points for winning the most games in a round by average. Say I get 100%, 50%, 80%, etc. - take that average based on the 10 tries per round. It might encourage everyone to get higher scores. WR's and WM's are getting a little tedious - might be a way to perk it up. What do you think?

Berylm  (Level: 154.0 - Posts: 478)

Well, I agree they're a little tedious - the only people who can win any real points are the handful of players who can get 100% rounds in the teens and early twenties (time-wise), and my best time ever was something like 29.75 seconds, which didn't get me even in the top 15, if I remember rightly, and my best placing was #10, which I only got by playing early morning UK time when the US people were out of it.

I still think the points should be adjusted so the top 20 or 25 get real points, then more people would try because there would be an actual possibility of getting something!

And that's completely beside the various colourful odds and sods, of none of which have I ever seen a sign!

Geo, if you do go into cardiac arrest I will save you. I'm a Respiratory Therapist and that's what I do. But I do like the idea of averaging some scores. Even when I was a Platinum member I barely made stayed in the top ten with all the extra chances as I just can't get into those teen scores. There's not enough point difference between being number 11 and number 20 to really make it an advantage.

I've never seen any green ghouls or blue pages or red ponies...would that have anything to do with my ancient computer?

There is a difference, Hunnykins: 11th is the coveted "missed it by that much" spot that gives the lucky owner license to whine. That's why there are at least four of us regulars who claim to be the King or Queen of Elevens. Where else, save for the bridge table, can a score of 590 have such an emotional effect?

Of course, by induction, this makes the 583 for twelfth very valuable because it just missed The Coveted Position.

Question,...Does having double 55's in the same hour WR/WM count as 10 '11's. as I've managed to pull that off a few times. And I believe I should at least be an honorary member of the '11' club. I've had far too many to count. At least 6 today.

Oh, and ,...what's a gem?

Just wondering,

I would love to join your club! I don't think these so called gems and goblins exist. I have given up looking for them.

I agree with your statement about the green ghoul.. I had one yesterday except I was shocked at how easy it was.. 2 dots, 3 dots, 1 dot, 3 dots, 4 dots, 2 dots.. then NOTHING!.. it hung.. no fruits of my labour were to be had.. i won't play it anymore.

As far as WR and WM goes, I would love to see the format changed to exactly your description.. averaging would be a great way to level the playing field. I have really enjoyed playing them but, it seems it doesn't matter the time of day I play, their are always the handful of sharp, quick players who score in the teens, early twenties.. just can't compete .. oh, woe is me lol

I saw the green goblin for the first time last night, but it took me by surprise and I thought it was an ad that accidentally popped up, so I clicked on by...DUH!

Robin.. you can click on the ghoul and it will open another window and wait for you while you finish your quiz.

Lisap, see when the green ghoul first started appearing it was impossible to get any of them because it was all like 14/15/16 dots, and there is no way to count all those at the speed it was going.

I think you might have been lucky with the one you got that had many low numbers because many of the ones I take have 8s and 9s in it.

I quite enjoy them and it is a good chance to boost your points.

This is why I was so surprised and thought.. wow, my lucky day.. all of these are low numbers and easy.. but then the game hung and wouldn't go anywhere.. no points, no success. I had to give up and close the window as nothing was happening.

Wow that is a strange thing to happen, I have never seen that.
Having said that when I read about the glitches that others seem to have had with different things I feel lucky I have only ever had one glitch with anything.

well I hope the next time you get a green ghoul that it doesn't happen to you again.

Anpther charter member here! I have yet to see the green guy! One I found I was the only one on the WR leaderboard without a golg nugget. I had a chance once but missed out. No boring meetings for this club - ler's just hangout. Becky

I have today, Jan 17th, been evicted from my own club. I actually got a gold nugget. After the initial shock and awe, I now have to turn the club over to BigBird.

Hunnykins, Congratulations.

I am glad to know that there is still hope, and I dubiously accept the crown and scepter. I am still a reigning member of the Gemless Club.

No bling bling for's disheartening because I like shiny things. I see all this bling around me on the leader boards and no bling for me. I look down the list and out of the top 25 and there are only 3 or 4 with no bling. One day my bling will come until then I will just hold onto hope. LMAO

Smeans it will happen. You have to offer up your children for sacrifice, play 24/7 without a potty or shower break, and pretend you just don't care. When it finally happened to me (and I am sure that is the only time I will ever see a gem again) I was so shocked , my first thought, was "Now what the heck is happening with my ISP?"

Congrats, Hunnykins...I have yet to see a blue page, so I'm only halfway in and out of the "club."

Nope Geophile - I was handed the crown, and I'm kicking you on out!! LOL This club is only for total losers. You can't have half a decoration; you need none at all.

There is only one thing to do - put your decoration down on the floor, and back away slowly.

OK, OK, stop whining - I'll let you come to meetings. You can have the milk and cookies - but you can't vote. There! I think that's fair.

President Alice
