Just noticed someone earned 155,000,000 + points in one day. How is this possible?

I guess that would be by winning wager/s showdown/s? Surely not a whole bunch of Word Rounds? Hahaha!

Well since the maximum bet on both a wager token and a showdown is 25% and his increased by more than 100% he must have discovered a way to cheat Mr Sploofus. I guess some people need or want that $25 monthly prize just too much.

What a huge number! If you look at the Wager Record Leaderboard though, there's noone with that kind of win showing. The largest record is Rabiddog with 29,469,622 on the 7th. Could you have perhaps mis-seen an extra set of zeros?

I also looked and could not find it on the leaderboards...

Also, you can save up wager tokens by simply not "spending" them; until one day you answer 5 or 6 of them at once. If you do it that way, you can more than double your points in one swoop.

In response to these queries, th eplayer you are talking about, saves up lots of wager tokens (and TQOTDs) at a time and then places them on all on the same day.

The reason they won't show up on the leaderboard for wagers is that he placed these wagers at the end of last month.

You can wager more than one token per day? You can only do one showdown/day or 24hrs..but you can wager more than one? That doesn't seem right...
Just a question from a newbie..

When you use a lot of wager tokens in one day you can't abuse the system. You would get the same results if you used them slowly over time because you still need to have a TQOTD to be able to use them. (ex. If I had stored up 5 wager tokens I could use 1 each day for the next 5 questions I received, or I could wait 5 days and use them in one day - same result)

Showdown tokens on the other hand can be exploited. If there was no 24 hour rule, someone could challenge the same person over and over again (depending on how many showdown tokens you have) before they had a chance to respond to the showdown. I believe what was happening was that members were saving up showdown tokens and dumping them in one day on an account that was known to be abandoned (but still in the system). After no response from the account, they would automatically win the showdowns (provided they responded correctly to the questions) and get gobs of points.

The user is Wengeruk. He changed from 9/25 to 9/26. #1 on the all-time leaderboard.

I think what Beth was saying was that you can save your questions the same way you can save your wager tokens, or showdown tokens. In order to use a wager token, you have to have a TQOTD. So you would have to let several days go by without answering your questions then use one wager token per question as a way to build up your points. It sounds like fun but I suppose it's just a form of delayed gratification. The same end is accomplished either in one day or over several weeks. There doesn't seem to be any tactical advantage to it. You end up with the same points (providing you get the questions right).

The only tactical advantage in saving your wager tokens is that you can save them until you have some more points to start with. The more points you have, the more you can wager. So saving them to use after winning some showdowns (especially if you have a ton of points to begin with - like wengeruk) could net you more points.

Of course, the othe part of this I hadn't realized until I was looking at my question for today is, the questions are only good for 10 days. So my original plan, which was to save up all my vocabulary questions and use them for wagering isn't going to work. No mounds of points wealth for me.
