They usually ask that you wait 'til closer to the expiration date, but I was like you. I had never renewed before and didn't want to be in limbo. Mine was to expire on 12/8/06, and I renewed on 11/28/06, and it went through okay. My new expiration date at the top of the command center didn't change immediately and had me kind of worried, but I think within a day it had changed to the new date. Hope this helps!

this here says the balance of your old membership is prorated and applied to the cost of your new account.

so if i overlap my membership by couple weeks, that means my new membership will be less expensive than if i let it lapse?

Sounds like it - but it will run out a bit earlier each time, so you won't save anything in the long run.

Seems a strange way to do it - you'd think the renewal would just add a straight year on to the end of the current membership, wouldn't you?

Now I'm a "stay at home Mum" without an income, I may have to let my gold membership lapse. I'm looking for a part time job as I don't want to return to my old full time job. I'm not looking for sympathy because not working full time is my choice, but... I will really miss Sploofus Gold and chatting to you all.

My query is, if my membership lapses, can I pick up from where I left off when I am financially in the pink again? Or will I have to start all over again from level one?

Hi Jen,

You can still play Sploofus without your gold membership and keep the same status - so when you are ready to be Gold again, you will get more benefits, thats all. Hope this helps and see you around Jen.

Great news. Still a while to go before it expires yet anyway.
