Bravo to all of you. I'm a bit disappointed, but pleasantly surprised at the same time, to see how well some of you did. I (laughingly) consider it a personal triumph to have completed 4 of the 5 puzzles without having all the letters filled in first, since I didn't even make it through Pre-Calculus. Congratulations to all of you who've done today's Puzzle, and good luck to those of you who, as of yet, have not.

The very thought of Trigonometry sent cold shivers up my spine, and sent me a-running for cover! Hahaha....I am a mathematical coward, saving myself for another'un in the Word Puzzles.

I tonight experienced the thrill of victory and the agony of defeat. I recently completed a Trig course and while at work today I did glance through my textbook for a little refreshing on the subject. When I arrived home tonight I sat down to do the puzzle and it was beautiful the way it played out. I recieved all common terms used in trig, knew 4 of the 5 without even needing a letter but picked one to make sure I was right. I finished the puzzle in less than 10 moves went into a victory celebration waking up everyone in the house only to look back at the screen to see i was being accused of cheating and my score had been changed to 99 moves with a nte saying my account would be reviewed. I have never nor would I ever cheat at a gameor any thing else for that matter ad my place in the standings shold speak for that. it is very diheartening to have that once in a lifetime round only to be chastized for your effort and penalized for actually knwing the answers to the trivia presented to you for answering. I agre that the issue of cheating needs to be addressed but not when you break the top 10 leaders on a puzzle for the first time in a 3 month membership. I will now drag my whiplike tongue back in tuck my tail and hang my head shamefully as i drag myself back to the sidelines to lick my wounds. Thanks for listening to my ranting and venting. crocdd

crocdd: how very disheartening. It just goes to show that the few bad apples really do spoil the cider for everyone else..

Make certain you send an message back to sploofus support explaining why you got the speeding ticket. I had that happen on NFL Teams and one other one where the pool pf possible answers was quite limited. Ask them to give you your points for winning. They put that filter in to catch the old cheats who where finding out the answers in a few different methods and then posting scores of 5 or 6 moves in 1 or 2 minutes. I guess the thing is still working.

My condolences to Crocdd as well...I gotta admire anyone who understands trigonometry at all, let alone be good'n'fast at it. ~Bev

I am with bushy on this one. You deserve that win crocc. Heck anyone who knows anything about Math should get an extra bonus. I am lucky that I can even spell math. Its true though, that a few will spoil it for the rest of us.

I go along with you - it is very disheartening.

I stopped really trying on wordpuzzles when I completed in 9 moves and was dumped to 99 moves. It takes real skill and thought to get a sub-ten score (although it is possible) - so well done!

Oh well. I still love Sploofus.

Been there done that too - we get a lot of them in very few moves but it always takes a long time to figure them out - Sploofus gave us our points when we were flagged like Tuz for the NFL puzzle. Good luck in getting your points.

I have had 3 courses in Calculus, but it was a looooonnnng time ago, so I really sucked at this puzzle....didn't even make the top 100!
Croc...I hope you contacted sploofus because that was a well deserved victory for you!

I'm so shocked and sorry to hear what happened. (I'm also feeling a little down now, because I'm not good enough to be flagged, and therefore knew nothing about the flagging system. lol) The Sploofmeister is obviously well-intentioned in having implemented such a system; however, this case is a huge reminder that nothing is perfect and no one will ever be able to fully and accurately filter out cheaters. I wish you the best of luck in receiving the points you so deserve, and congratulate you on doing so well, even if, as of right now, your place on the leaderboard doesn't show it. Why should you be down on the leaderboard with me? I legitimately and fairly "blew" at this Puzzle; you did not.

Thank you everyone for your kind words and support. I did send a note to sploofus about the matter but I guess it didn't help. When I signed in a few minutes ago I had a message saying I had recieved 204 points. Oh well I can live with that, I still know I finally have somthing to smile about with my true score. The points aren't really that important to me since I am on dialup and cant compete with the speed of cable and make the top of leaderboards. crocdd
