ROTATE TRIVIA TROPICS

Another user was asking about the "color of vegetables" quizzes being the most popular. I speculated this might be because FOOD is the first topic people see.

Perhaps you could rotate the order of the topics so people coming into the main pages will see a different subject on top, from time to time.

The point is not green veggies, its the stuff being passed as trivia.

Seems like a good theory, but I suspect that some people simply like the easy quizzes (hence the "Easy Quiz About ___" titles).

Still, it does seem like a good idea. The quiz topics at the bottom get the least number of hits, it seems. That is not always a bad thing. If you create a Sports quiz, it stays in front lots longer than a Food, Movies, or Music quiz!

Looks like I'm a flip-flopper on this idea, Phil (And I did vote for Kerry). :D

I agree with Philkon that the categories should be rotated. Perhaps on a monthly basis.

Felix,

I can agree with your sentiments about the quality of the trivia. However, one person's fun & amazing quiz is another person's semester final. I think there is room for both kinds.

I don't work for Sploofus, but I can see a reason to have some incintive for people to play. This gets more people in, and thus they can more properly fund their operation. I have a pretty massive website myself. Everything in it is free. So, I do have links to Amazon (etc) dto help cover the cost. Then again, I am not trying to make a living through my website.

I do not know how the difficulty rating is established. That could be another thing for Sploofus to look into. Perhaps more points for the more difficult quizzes. Or, not at all, for the people who enjoy the challenge, and could care less about the points.

I agree with Felix, some of the stuff on here I just can not be bothered with and to be honest it has damped my enthusiasm somewhat. I love the true trivia, I may not be the best at getting them right, but I do love the challenge.
I have to admit, I tend to skim through most of the quizzes to find the ones by trusted authors.
Occasionally, I stop at one which takes my eye and if that quiz holds my interest then I add the author to my list. I know this sounds unfair, as I am sure there are some great quizzes hidden in the mass of *goo*, and that *goo* spoils it for the majority. Just my opinion sorry.

I sent the following request to player support in July. Here is my request and their response, obviously not something they considered for very long:

Operating System: Windows XP
Internet Connection: Broadband
Web Browser: Other
Issue: Problem has always existed

I would like to suggest that you randomize and periodically shuffle the category listings on the main page. Since 'Food' is the category that pops up first, people are apt to take these quizzes more than any other giving an unfair advantage to the food quiz authors. As you can tell in the top ten, most of the quizzes are food related. Thank you for your consideration

Thanks for the feedback, we appreciate your comments and will certainly consider them.

Thanks again,

How about an option to list the quizzes by difficulty rating.
I know it would make it very easy for people to find and take all the puff quizzes, but it could also give people who want a challenge a way to find old, but reasonably tough quizzes.

I think it would be a good idea if there were a top ten for each seperate category, so we could see which quizzes are getting the most attention for each category and not just the food category!

I have noticed quizzes that I did over a year ago are resurfacing and are written very lightly different. Some of these quizzes are getting boring they appear so often. If I see one more Nascar Driver and/or Car Number, I think I will scream. Where have the challenging quizzes gone?
