Garrybl and I were chatting about this. He asked me to post a thread to poll folks on what quiz has earned them the most point.

My #1 is: A Bit of Random TV Trivia --- 299,052 points

I am certain there are several others out there in this range and blasting passed it. If you are not gold, and cannot post on the BBS/Chat board, send the info to me on a note from the bottom of a quiz you just took and I will post it up for you.

Mine was Books You Might Have Read in High School at 103,354. I strongly suspect it did well because there were relatively few quizzes entered that day, so it didn't get buried right away.

"You Haven't Read the Book, Now Take the Quiz" became my first 100K quiz a few days ago. Now it's at 178,038 with a bullet.

It blows my mind completely that Ken's 100K+ quiz was spun off one I wrote ("Sploofproof Book Quiz--Outlander")that's had a mere 37 takers and yielded to date fewer points than a really good WP! Thrilled for your success, Ken, don't get me wrong, good on ya, but dang! that smarts! Consider me spanked!

Highest point-earner so far is my holiday CQ: 84 takers, 46,722
"Trivia Mistress's Greatest Hits I" is 2nd: 75 takers, 41,866

The ones that have actually had the most takers were scored under the old system and have produced fewer points per taker. My most-taken quiz (complete with built-in limited appeal) is "American Idol 2006" with 152 takers, 20,796. Second most-taken was "Dead or Married? (Shakespeare)," with 118 takers and an EA it's generated 14,673 points.

My least successful are my John Updike tribute quiz with 7 takers, 539 points, and a Darrell Waltrip quiz with 16 takers, 2,630. How's that for gamut?

Can't figure out a graceful way to plug any more of them.

Somehow I got 422,889 points for "Obscure Trivia You Might Actually Know," and have not even come close to that with any other quizzes.

Wow, mine was recent! Do You Eat, Drink, Drive, Wear or Spend It? earned me 437,413 points.
Thanks to a high difficulty level, it seems.

I had one runaway success that made it into the Top 25: "Caution! X-Rated!", but that was prior to the new points system. It had 657 players for a return of 49,410 points.

However, under the new scoring system of higher points, "Bushyfox's Musical Offering" made the most points at 51,849......but with only 94 players!

Nothing like the stratospheric levels of some quiz-authors, but I am happy anyway!

My 'Breakfast Club Trivia' quiz is the highest points earner with 32,031 points. I wrote this quiz before the change in points took place a few years back (the points for quizzes were reset) so this is only the points that have accrued since that time. Interestingly, it is the lowest rated of all my quizzes ! My highest rated is my 'Heart-y Valentine's Day' quiz. Here are the links:

96,662 on a Fill in the blank quiz. But I don't think those count as quizzes. I have 5 others over 70k all FITB. Go figure.

A close second is Definition Fun Continues at 40,605 with 102 takers.
My quiz that yielded the least points is The Gods Must Be Crazy - Film Trivia at 7630 with 18 takers
2nd least points is Canadian Real Estate Quiz (! go figure) at 11,520 with 29 takers.

P.S. - I was shocked that my daughter wrote a quiz on Walt Disney Couples and yielded 148,911 pts. with 715 takers... and I couldn't even hit 50,000 pts lol - a hit to the ego

My highest-scoring quiz was "Celebrities I Have Annoyed," which had 474 takers for 126,216 points. But I do think that "Celebrities I Have Almost Met" was better, and it had only 90 takers for 21,000 points. My second-scoring quiz was "Cypress River's Musical Offering," a completely absurd quiz with 74 takers and 22,057 points.

Thank you for this opportunity to plug my favorite quizzes. Now I'll go take all the other quizzes mentioned in this thread!

I need to write some new quizzes!

My experimental quiz (if I put the word "easy" in the title, will I finally get into the Top Quiz heap?) "Obsolete Inventions-Easy!" is my top scoring quiz (44K+ points). It's not even a great quiz.

A really fun quiz called "Forensic Science-The Basics" is my 2nd best, with 543 takers and a few hundred points less than the quiz mentioned above.

I think it is noteworthy that my recent quizzes, almost all having earned Editor Awards, had fewer than 100 takers.

I am amazed at the points some of you have received. Congrats!

Very humbling to see how many of you are in the 100,000+ club!

Here's my top point getters [with number of takers]:

Top "Gross"-ing Films of All Time [304] 95,759
What the Heck is this Movie? [1228] 90,941
HELP! Ad Slogans Have Taken Over My Life! [301] 64,719

I haven't written all that much since the new scoring system.

My poorest showing:

Nashville - the Robert Altman film [3] 270 pts.

I was fortunate to score 214,963 points on a quiz called Soda Pop !!! Timing has a lot to do with how well a quiz does. Mine happened to hit the top 25 right away and the level of difficulty generated a lot of points. I remember as I wrote it I thought a lot of effort was going into a quiz that very few people would take.

My number one point earning quiz was South Park for Fans with 50,000 and some change. My lowest earning quiz was on the movie Empire of the Sun, with 2,400 points, but I never figured to get points out of that quiz anyway.

Well mine pales in comparison to some of the others posted. But my quiz with the highest points is my "LOTR FOTR Character Quotes Part 1" quiz with all of 20,031 and 82 takers. yeeehaaw!! My lowest scoring quiz is "Maximum Ride: The Angel Experiment" with a mind blowing 735 points and a grand total of 9 takers. LOL I guess no one else read that book.
