EDITORS - PLEASE READ !!!

I launched a quiz yesterday about Noon (2/8/07) called "CLASSIC COUNTRY MUSIC TRIVIA CHEST (4). It now has 97 in the queue ahead of it. PLEASE DON'T RELEASE IT!!! I realize now that you can't fix the problem, because you can't see it. As you know, when we write a quiz, the correct answer is supposed to be in RED and the wrong answers in BLACK; however, they are ALL SHOWING UP BLACK, making the system think they are all wrong answers. That is why people are taking other quizzes and scoring 0%. When I launched it, I thought since I put a note to the editor on it you might could fix it, but now I realize that when you get the quizzes to edit, you don't have a way of knowing what the right answer is. There have been quite a few of these that have gotten through and people are taking them getting 0%. I don't want this to happen, so PLEASE SEND ME A NOTE ON IT, AND DON'T RELEASE IT. I WILL HOLD IT UNTIL I FEEL IT'S SAFE TO RELEASE IT. THANK YOU SO MUCH!!!

Same thing has happened to my quiz launched 7 January - Beatles Triviabilia - correct answer in black not red - 61 ahead of it.

I'm sure they'll catch your quiz before it gets posted, unfortunatly, I didn't realize the glitch until several of mine went live, being relatively new to Sploofus (which I love) I've yet to get the hang of it all! Just hoping there is a way the members who have taken the quizzes get credited.

Marilyn - I just posted in the "quiz problem" thread that for the most part we are just sitting on the quizzes right now, and waiting for the site to be back to normal before we release any more quizzes. I feel your frustration with the quizzes; I have been trying to finish writing one for days and days.

ALSO FOR THE EDITORS:

PLEASE remove all of my quizzes from the queue as well, I'm sure they too will result in 0% scores. Not sure what to do regarding the quizzes that have been taken with no scores credited to the members! I've received a slew of messages informing me of my faulty quizzes. Would prefer you took a look-see before I made any changes to them. THANK YOU!

Thanks Sploofinder for your quick response. Does this mean you'll be sending these back when the system is fixed for us to relaunch, when it's possible for the correct answers to show up in red? Am I right in assuming that when you receive the quizzes, you have no way of distinguishing the right answer from the wrong one? I feel like until the right answer shows up in "red", the system will still pick it up as a wrong answer. Is this right? Valedc4 has a new quiz with this problem and posted a note for people not to take her quiz because the right answers were not registering. She said some people read it and some don't and take it anyway. This is resulting in authors receiving really low ratings, I guess from the frustration of the quiz takers. Thanks for holding it and will be waiting to hear from you. Thanks, again!

You are correct in that we have no way of knowing what the correct answer is to any quiz. When we see them the 5 choices are jumbled. So, I suppose the answer is that we have no way of knowing if, in fact, there is a correct answer designated, or if there are 5 wrong answers (as the quizzes have been doing lately).

We cannot send a quiz back to you until it comes up in our queue - but possibly one answer would be to send them all back till the system is fixed. Then everyone could relaunch them when all is back to normal, and they are the way you want them.

I will take this concern over to the editors' chat board, and see if we can come to a consensus. But, I'll tell ya, a whole bunch o'editors agreeing on something is a rare thing!

That sounds like Washington! Your idea sounds like an excellant one to me, and maybe cut down the confusion. I feel like they will have to be redone or at least relaunched. When you find out anything, please let us know, since it's affecting the quiz authors and the quiz takers. Thanks a Bunch!

I am expecting that given the seriousness and universalness of this problem, when it is fixed Justin will let us know whether we need to send back the quizzes or they can be released normally from the queue, and we will handle them accordingly.

As someone who has also taken one of the quizzes released with no right answers, I realized that this is a system error, and not the fault of the author. I wouldn't rate a quiz I took badly on this account, and I hope others won't either.
