When it says there are xxx quizzes ahead of yours does that mean in total, or in a particular moderator's queue?

I've had a quiz in the same position all day (7th) but there were definetly way more than 7 new quizzes added today. Also, a quiz I wrote AFTER that one went Live already.

I'm not complaining, just confused.

Not sure how they work it,but I have had a Quiz relaunched twice now and was told it would be looked at right away one I did corrections, and it is still sitting there .

As I understand it, some quizzes are sent back to the authors by editors to make changes.. At that point they're not counted as being in the queue. When they're corrected and resubmitted, they have priority over others in the queue since they've already waited their turn previously. That means that some that were before the 7 in front of yours had been pulled, corrected, resubmitted, and went live while there were still 7 waiting for review. That would explain why yours didn't move up when other new ones went live.

Regrding your newer quiz that went live before your #7 one, it probably means that the editor that took your #7 quiz is still reviewing it, went out to dinner, went on vacation, or a number of other reasons that would prevent an immediate turn-around of your #7 quiz. Another editor, who took your newer quiz for review could have skipped dinner, decided to forego a vacation, or was just so fascinated by it that he/she couldn't tear himself/herself away until it was completely reviewed and made live.

Excellent description of the situation Maurlin!

When a quiz is first submitted, it shows as being behind ALL other quizzes, "owned" and unowned. When a quiz has been started on the editing process (ie picked up by an editor), it "belongs" to that editor. If it was returned to you and then you resubmitted, it should only have other "owned" quizzes in front of it.

But I have had quizzes resubmitted to me that I had sent back for revisions several MONTHS ago! And those do indeed still jump to the head of the line. I cannot edit any new quizzes until I have taken care of these resubmissions.

The only other reason you would see one sit still for so long would be if there was a problem (such as suspected plagiarism) and the quiz has been turned over to the chief editor for more intense scrutiny.

I am not suggesting that this is Erica's problem, just pointing out one other possibility.

Very nice assessment, Maurlin.

Hmm, Sploofusker and Sploofernatural didn't reply. Maybe they're on vacation (or having dinner, possibly together). I'll skip dinner tonight to review quizzes but if someone offers me a vacation I'm outta here!

Thanks to everyone for answering my questions. I hope I didn't come across as inpatient, I was just curious how it worked and now I think I have a better understanding.... So, there's only 5 editors looking at all those quizzes? WOW!

Now I have one more question... How do the monthly points work as far as quizzes? It seems like my all-time points are going up, but my monthly points are staying the same. I thought you got "credit" for your quiz writing as well as taking? Or did I read that wrong?

I promise I'll read the rules again before I ask anymore questions.

Thanks for your patience with a newbie!
