Yeah, guess I said something offensive? Just was saying it would be fun to discuss our own sploorphy's laws but only after the WP is over so we don't indicate what is and isn't in the WP. Geez.

I think you've been mistaken for the Clue Police, Lodi.

FUN puzzle! Way clever and too true!

Add my commendations to the puzzle setter.

Although put in 'sploofus spoiler' on google and you come up with all the answers.....

very enjoyable quiz- I thought it was nicely challenging without having a 'google factor' attached

Although I still find any scores under 30 a bit suspicious

Whew! I had to go look at mine. I'm not good enough to be suspicious. Although I do have to say that my score on the White & Nerdy WP (I wasn't even in the top ten) earned me a private message from someone who simply said "NERD!"

Yeah, you know who you are.

Ha- I'm not good enough to be suspicious either- although the cat puzzle was terribly tempting to google. I'd rather not be tempted because it is not a true measure of ability to just google answers.

I like Eesus's invitation to post our own laws after the WP expired!

Here is my Murphy’s Law …er, I mean Sloorphy’s Law:

Law: If you end up in the top place of a Word Puzzle, there will always be some player who will think you cheated and will post his/her suspicions in Salty Dog.

Corollary 1: If a player posts in Salty Dog that your WP score is suspicious, that player usually takes over 50 moves.

Corollary 2: If you are a good WP player, add more moves and make enough mistakes so that you can be assured you do not accidentally end up in the top spot.

Corollary 3: If you are a good WP player, you can never add enough moves and make enough mistakes so that you can be assured you do not accidentally end up in the top spot.

I have discovered a way to know where I end up, and to be assured no one else does!

1. If you have a great score in the WR's, you will find that you missed a circle and only got 90%

2. If you get a great time during the WM, you will discover that all the REALLY good players played that round and your time isn't that impressive.

3. If you are taking a quiz in which you are really interested, you will accidentially double click a submit button, thus ending the quiz.

4. If you make a seemingly normal and inoffensive post in the chat, someone out of left field will take offense and attack you. (Usually the twilight zone music plays during these times)

5. If you are looking for someone to log into sploofus, they will have just logged off as you log in, or visa versa.

I'm sure I have more.

If you are in first place in either the Word Rounds or Word Matches with one minute remaining, be prepared to settle for fourth place.

If you get a Word Round with the same correct answer listed twice, you will pick the wrong one.

Banomet: Someone posted that if you choose the first one of the two it usually works!
That's usually what I try!

You will notice several misspellings that spellcheck missed immediately after you launch a quiz. This is more likely to happen in direct proportion to the number of unedited quizzes ahead of you.

When you have earned a wager token, only the categories you hate will come up. Repeatedly.

The chances of all talk in the WR shout coming to a complete halt for several hours is in direct proportion to the stupidity of your last comment.

The one question in 10 in your favorite category that you can't answer is reserved your wager token.

Better yet;

If you save two questions from a category you normally do well in, the one you select to wager on would leave the collective faculty of Yale scratching their heads, while the one you bypassed is common knowledge to the average 3rd grader.

Yep, Tim, that's my bugbear! After the server change I kept my TQOTDs until everything settled then answered 11 one after the other. I only got two wrong - and of course one of those two was the wager question. Sigh!

When talkin' about the United Kingdom (Scotland, England, Wales & Northern Ireland) as a whole, you can bet your bottom dollar, that 1 of our American friends, will insist on saying "England"..
Don't believe me? Try out the current WP (as a bad example)..
