It is time to start your CQ for MARCH.

TITLE for your quiz: (your name) says, "Laugh!"

LAUNCH: within a day or two after the deadline

Put this at the top of your quiz details:

Welcome to the March Challenge Quizzes -- a game for quiz takers and makers.

(Put your description of your quiz here)

-- STANDARD CHALLENGE QUIZ RULES ver. 1.3 (12/14/06) --

These are the rules that apply to every Community Quiz (CQ).

1. All normal Sploofus (SQAG) quiz-writing rules to apply.

2. All quizzes must be exactly 10 questions in length.

3. Only one CQ per author per event.

4. No Fill-In-The-Blank or Kids quizzes.

5. Quizzes must be submitted within the announced submission window. CATEGORY CLOSES AT LAUNCH. QUIZZES NOT IN THE SYSTEM AT LAUNCH TIME WILL NOT BE ACCEPTED INTO THE CATEGORY.

6. Quizzes must be named as described in the event announcement

7. Quizzes must contain the common quiz description.

8. The interpretation of each CQ topic is entirely up to you, but it is still subject to the review Sploofus editors and must be able to pass the "reasonable person" test when it comes to being germane and meeting "Family Friendly" standards. But it helps if you remember that the more general and international it is, the more quiz-takers and points you'll get! Any specialist/regional restriction should be stated in the part of the quiz description for you personal description of your quiz.

9. Have fun

I attempted my first CQ (actually my first quiz of any kind)this time. I was just wondering about the submission date. By that date (in this case 3/11)does the quiz have to be in the queue or through the editing process? I assume it's the latter. Mine is currently behind 94 others. Is there a chance it will make the deadline? If not, what happens to it?
Thanks. Perhaps there are other newbies who could use this info to encourage them to jump into quiz-authoring.

Quizzes that are submitted by the deadline are guaranteed a spot in the CQ set, as long as they satisfy Sploofus quiz requirements. Editors are able to comb the queue for CQs, and make sure they get taken care of in time. For this reason, there is a "Launch Messages" thread. Your posting there when you launch the quiz alerts us that you have a Community Quiz that needs CQ special handling.

Okay, you didn't do it. It's your first time, and you didn't know. Well, relax. Your posting here accomplished the same thing. Your quiz has been fed to the CQ editing team, and if you don't hear from them, you can safely assume that it will be released with the others.

HOWEVER, ANYONE ELSE WHO LAUNCHED A CQ WITHOUT POSTING THAT FACT, PLEASE POST THAT YOU LAUNCHED ONE NOW! If you are a non-paying member who launched close to the deadline, and you can't post in this forum, take a quiz by one of the CQ organizers (Tuzilla or Surreyman), and send them a mail message afterwards that you have a Community Quiz in the queue. They'll be able to notify the CQ editors that your quiz is on the way.

Thank you, Sploofernatural. I had misunderstood the word "launch." I thought launch is what happened after the editing process. Thanks for taking the time to explain.
I'm glad to know that I did not totally blow it--although it would have been a learning experience in any case!
