I'm quite annoyed. I recently lost a substantial wager on TQOTD when the question under the banner of "Vocabulary" asked for the meaning of a word in Spanish. I sent a message of complaint to the disputed answers address but received no reply. If you are going to allow questions like that, where do you draw the line? The Urdu word for "rainbow"? The Japanese word for "little sister"? Given that Sploofus is an English-language site, I reckon I wuz robbed. Any editorial comment?

Poop. I was waiting for a vocab question for a wager. Now I'm skeered.

Editors are now able to help get through the enormous pile of support tickets sent in to Justin. Please have patience and your problem will be resolved! We were just discussing that very problem yesterday from someone else's support ticket.

OK. Now you've done it. I can't find the Urdu word for 'rainbow' or the japanese for 'little sister'.

Inquiring (yet feeble) minds want to know.

I know Eskimo for seal flipper. More study is apparently called for.

I ran "seal flipper" through Babelfish to Eskimo, but when I translated back what they'd said, it came out "laminate dolphin".

Now you know why the Vogons destroyed Earth and all its languages.

I would just like to support Sharper - I received a TQOTD which required whether I knew Pakistan was Urdu for "Land of the Pure". The other choices were Hindi translations.
I don't mind hard questions, but the expectation in such questions is hardly fair especially if wagering a load of points on it.

I was just grabbing examples out of the air, although I do know that the Japanese for "little sister" is "imooto".

re Pakistan, I thought that it was a deliberate semi-acronym made up from the initial letters of Punjab, Afghan Frontier and Kashmir + stan for "land", so you may have even more grounds for complaint.

The seal flipper that you "eat", in Eskimo, is Oogarook. I can also tell you what it tastes like but it wouldn't be prudent. I'll just say that it took 6 months to get that taste out of my mouth. Susan

The Urdu word for "rainbow" is "quzah."

What is another English word for synonym?
