QUIZZES ON THE MOST POPULAR PAGE!!!

Once a quiz reaches the "Most Popular" page, what determines how long it stays up there? For example, if several people are still taking it, and it is being rated fairly high, is it compared to others with the same amount of takers as far as rating goes, and if it has a lesser rating than those in the amount of takers category, does it disappear? Thanks!

I think the most popular quizzes stay on the boards for either 10 days or two weeks..I'm not exactly sure on this one. I know it use to be 30 days...Hope this helps.

I had one that hadn't been on there 10 days which disappeared this morning with 200 and some takers yesterday, and about a 15.3 popularity. It was my first time to have one on there, and am not sure why it disappeared, but thought it may stay on there longer. It may have been up 5 days at the most. Thanks, Vickie!

My understanding is that it stays for 10 days after the launch date not 10 days after it gets there-sometimes a difference. I could be incorrect here though-Linda

The quizzes that I recently had the luck to get onto the page were there for the duration of 10 day after the launch date. My quiz "Randomly General Odds & Ends" was launched on 3/11 and will come off after 3/21 based on the span of time on the page for the past few.

The date at the top of the quiz is 3/8/07, so if what you say is true Linda, 10 days would be the 18th which was yesterday. In that case, then that is probably why it is gone today. Thanks, Linda!

Thanks, Steve! According to you and Linda, that seems to be the pattern.

The Most Popular list will ONLY contain quizzes that are less than 10 days old since launch (not 10 days since it got on the list).

Assuming a quiz qualifies above, it will only stay on the list as long as it is still one of the 25 most popular quizzes that do qualify - ie if it becomes 26th during its 10 days, it will drop off early.

At its 10 day 'birthday', it will drop off anyway.

Hope this clarifies things a bit!

One minor thing I noticed is that the launch date is NOT the date sent to the editors... the date on your own list.

aleena that would explain why none of mine ever get there, I've got such a backlog of unlaunched quizzes I don't need to write some for a few more weeks.

Sorry, it's 10 days since *release*, not 10 days since launch - mea culpa.

However, if you want to check and be certain what the date is that it's being calculated from, open the quiz itself as if it's not yours (ie from the front page or the 'Trivia Quizzes' page) and the date at the top is one being used. It's not necessarily the one on your 'Your Quizzes' list.

Right...love the name RELEASE date. Used to be only a few hours behind launch date...with so many newbys and quiz writers... editors need a thick skin!

LOL! I'm thinking the quiz authors need a thick skin ...

Kudos to all the quiz authors that give us an opportunity to choose.

It still amazes me about the concern of the authors over the fine points. Or the points, whatever.

It would be nice to have a FAQs for quiz authors. Let us plebes take the quizzes as we choose. I love the quizzes, and don't take as many as I could. I find really good gems in the pre-editor days, also.

Promise to take more quizzes in the future!
