I have only had wonderful and kind interactions with fellow Sploofers since I have discovered this congenial island. The people of Sploofus island are intelligent, friendly, supportive, and fun! I was extremely surprised when I received a rude message regarding one of my quizzes in my message center. I replied to the rude fellow in a rather nice way, and he returned yet another rude message! I am still shocked! What would you do? (The message was not threatening, but I found it offensive because he was rude and insulting)

Report it. There is no need for anyone to be rude or offensive to you about your quizzes.

And 'out' the Sploofuser publicly, so we can all be icily condescending to them...

Please write a support ticket with the name of the person and a copy of the message(s). They will be dealt with in an appropriate manner. Sploofus does not tolerate behavior such as you described.

I got a horrible PM from a newbie once.....reported it immediately, and was gratified to find that person was voted off the island post haste!

We don't need that kinda nastiness here.

I believe you can also block that person as a sender and never receive messages from that player again.

THANKS so very much for all of your quick and supportive responses! I have had a day to calm down and I am still offended, but am second guessing myself. I am asking for more of your opinions....

This Sploofer said that my quiz was "unimportant", "unadventurous", "piddling", "inconsequential", "picayune", "petty", etc. all in one word, in a language other than English. I googled the word in order to get the definitions. I replied, stating that he really shouldn't say anything if he didn't have anything nice to say. Then I further stated I had written the quiz because it was fun, and that Sploofus was a fun activity. I was basically trying to justify my quiz! He repsonded, saying that my comment to him was "the same words as above"!

I just need some more input before I would cause "trouble" for anybody. I would hate to disturb anybody because I may be over-reacting. By the way, this Sploofer is not even a gold member. Thanks again, everybody!

That must be one busy guy if he takes time to comment rudely on every topic that is not "earth shattering"

I, personally, come to Sploofus for the deep and meaningful commentary on todays political environment. Sploofus' political discourse is vital to the elective process, and the very fabric of American civilization would rip at the seams were it not for the truly meaningful quizzes on Sploofus.

WHy, just today, I took a "one hit wonders from 1974" quiz that might very well change my life forever. That, coupled with "Get me to a punnery" and I have the most meaningful, consequential, non-picayune information of my adult life.

That said, I must now remove the tongue so firmly implanted in my cheek, and continue with my quiz taking.

With Love,

Texlewee - A newbie Gold creating quizzes of consiquence for about a month......

Supermom - You simply must send the information to Justin via a Support Ticket. You may not want to get the person 'in trouble' but you have no way of knowing if 4 other people have complained about the same thing and it is the fifth offense that will get him booted, or reprimanded, or have his PM privileges taken away.

I don't know when or how any of those things might actually be done, but if this person made you uncomfortable then you should report it. Remember, you are not seeking vengeance or applying a punishment; you are simply reporting a problem.

I'm surprised that it takes four to boot. If sombody is just saying rude things (picayune, etc.), that is ok,, but in the cases when somebody is swearing and/or calling somebody vile names, etc., I would think the book would come sooner.

I had a similar experience on my "Waste Not Want Not" quiz, but without the language. I didn't send a ticket and probably should have. I'm sorry you had a bad experience on the Island. I am in awe of the wonderful people I have found here. Susan

I have to agree with you, Mindmonkey. Anyone can have a really bad day and explode. Once is forgivable. Twice and you are out, in my book.

I didn't mean to imply that 5 infractions was the rule. I was just trying to give an example of a reason why the reporting is important and one shouldn't feel like one is "tattling" or "getting someone booted".

I believe that Justin handles the offenders on a case by case basis.

Texelwee, I giggled through your entire post!

Thanks for all of your comments! I will let Justin know.
