THE LAND OF SPLOOFUS!

Lately people have been voiceing their opinions about what Sploofus should be. From day one I have felt like Sploofus is a new country. There are conflicts and agreements. Perhaps Sploofus can be the first virtual country! We are all mind Pilgrims searching for what we don't know, what we want to learn and what we want to teach. We will thrive off of each other, and form a brotherhood.
In the name of fun, entertainment, and the never ending addiction of new knowledge, we will prevail!
We will have conflicts, we will have agreements, but my fellow Sploofusers, they will make us stronger as a whole. We are one and we are all!
Two the Sploofus nation, today and forever!

Sounds kind of nice! I'll pay my membership fee to live here as I don't have to start paying taxes on top of that.

It is a wonderful idea doobie! As you have already written the Consitiution, I suggest the language maybe could be Sploofusian. We can now build up a tower of creative ideas from here. So what do others think? Come on, being Pilgrims in search of a new country is a responsible quest!(Take it seriously even if you are giggling).

Well every country has it's own motto - in Latin of course! I found a good quote from Bacon for us to use: "Ipsa scientia potestas est - Knowledge itself is power."

Of course if someone knows Latin they can translate the "Brain food...Mmmm good!" slogan for us! Philkon??? It wouldn't surprise me if you knew Latin.

I'm in as long as we don't form any political parties.

Nice sentiment, Doob!

here, here.....to Sploofus, where we can have fun, learn some new tidbits, and enjoy one another's virtual companionship.

The motto you have selected Krav has a very nice sound to it.

Every country must have a day of celebration for it's birth or inception. Is there someone out there who knows of this date........can you help us out Mr. Sploofus?

I have connections in the shirt biz/industry; maybe we could generate an International Sploofus day and proudly display our Sploofus colors, etc. (of course we could wear our shirts/colors on other days too...lol)

Lol Will! We could have the Punctuationists (those who believe in correct grammar and punctuation at all times) and the Nongrammarians (those who are a little more lax with the rules)!

Please don't make any negative replies to this or start a debate for/against anything. I'm just joking. I don't want any nastiness on Doobie's nice thread!

You know action, shirts are not a bad idea. Maybe Sploofus should sell shirts to members, It might be a way to generate a little revenue ar at the very lest provide advertisement for the site.
The beauty of a virutal country is that it will never get too crowded or overpopulated!

Cogito ergo sum. Sploofisio ergo sum.
I think, therefore I am. I Sploofus, therefore I am. (sort of)

As far as I can recall (or determine), there is no translation for brain in Latin, So.....

Brain victus....Mmmmmm, bonus!

Cerebellum is Latin for "little Brain". I also think we could have a yearly "Sploofus Brain Drain Day"

Arrgghhhh I have been trying to get silk screened T's for over a year now, but don't have the $$$ to meet the minimum order from the most cost effective supplier I was able to connect with... as soon as I get these T's there are 15 individuals who I owe a shirt to. I love the idea of hats too!

The company I work for has several types of shirts that we can order, however they have us pay in advance that way they can pay for the minimum order required.

What about Cafe Press? Just about anyone can get in with them, and I'm sure there would be enough interest generated...Kind of cheesey, but you could get mugs, hats, etc. Good way to get the name out there

Phikon - I think the Sploofus motto in Latin might be "Nutrimeus cerebrum Mmmm bonus!" Any Latin scholors who want to verify this, please do.
With regard to t-shirts etc., one thing I would love to see would be Sploofus Membership cards. These could be laminated (with perhaps a passport size photo inside?). I would be very happy to pay up to $6 and to have one in my wallet. They could also double up as an ID. I think this would be an attractive incentive for members to upgrade or just even to buy them.
What do you think?

That sounds better than mine. I kept striking out with cerebrun & cerebrellum....It's an old dictionary, Caesar used it, too.

Thanks Phikun. By the way I intended my suggestion about Sploofus Membership cards to be directed to Sploofus management and other members, as well as Phikun.
So I look forward to what you all think.

I'm still laughing at marynuala's language proposal: Sploofusian!!!

Our flag can feature a giant questionmark - or (silver) rampant (facing left - I think) on an azure (blue) field.

I'd like to put in a nomination for the motto: something like "veni, vici, sploofisi" - I came, I saw, I sploofused! (sorry, but my Latin is only as good as what I got to sing in choir)

Some days I just love you all

Here is a little Latin for Sploofus, Esto perpetua. "Let it be everlasting"
This is one of my favorite, Draco dormiens nunquam titillandus.

You lot a one crazy bunch of lovable people :D
I personally would be interested to purchase an ID card (superb idea) and a mug or pen but not really interested in a T-shirt thanks.
How about a
Mouse mat
Drinks coaster
Note blocks
Diaries
Badges (you like tiny Charity pin type ones)

Ummmm, cant think of any thing else of the top of my head :D

But, I do think that you are all on to something here.

Hey Kasp..don't forget the Sploofus coffee mugs! (preferably full of strong coffee to keep us addicts awake!) I totally love Suzer's idea of the questionmark flag or pennant. Sir Sploofus, this could be a way to help pay those bills, look at all the merchandise ideas abounding! I would pay in advance, wonder if others would? Might help cover the costs?

I would love a coffee mug or a tee shirt with one of these great latin mottos on it.

I would love for an illustration to be used also; however, it may be expensive for the rights. I am imagining "The Thinker." It just seems to embody & illustrate perfectly the average Sploofuser to me.

I know! How about a Sploofus car?! A cooper mini that is painted bright red with those little blue yellow and red M&M looking question marks on the side. Then on the bumper it says "Sploofus...small package...big ideas!" Now that I would buy.....or a bike shaped like a question mark!

Oh alright......I'm on board with the t-shirts...oh....oh! SPLOOFUS TOE SOCKS! And Sploofus Slippers! And a shirt for your dog to wear that says "I'd love to be taken for a walk, but my owner is Sploofusing." or a sign for your door that says "Do not disturb, Trivia Wager in progress"
ok I'm done.....

I think a sploofus propeller-hat would be cool. I wouldn't wear it, but it would be cool.

I have an idea for those 15 owed t-shirts. What if the ones who are owed them pay for them, and when time to re-up, they just pay the difference? That would 1-get your foot in the door for t-shirts, and 2-the money for the re-ups would be some-what disbursed. I for one would gladly pre-pay for a shirt, and all you guys have some wonderful ideas! Teresa

It's so much nicer in this chat thread. Just came from the angry religious thread started today and I like Doobie's Land of SPloofus much better. I think I'll stay here from now on!

I'm glad I got a good chat going! I thank all of you for your replies. The religious chat got me kinda irked. Keep those ideas coming my fellow Sploofusers, or for Halloween, Splooks!

I was thinking maybe there could be a virtual world. The categories could be like countries or continents. Each one could have their own culture. Like Sportland, Video Island, and The Central Land of Miscellania. Just some ideas.

All hail the world of Sploofus! Hail! Hail! Hail!
