WOW!!! Donna congratulations what a great victory. I would love to be so smart. Maybe you should get on Jeopardy, and get some $$$$s for your vast knowledge. Incredible win.

I'm really upset with how my statement was cherry-picked. When they asked for a photo I offered a picture of "the whole Jacksonville contingent" and they said they'd love it. I also sent one of me with Jeannarie and Phitzy and they cropped that awful picture out of it. I very specifically listed "playing games and making friends on" prominently among my hobbies. They left out mention of my husband and grandsons as well. I'll have to look at what I sent them to see what else was omitted.

Oh, the agony of being famous and having the paparazzi misquote you!

Sorry 'bout the misquotes...

but you should know that those in the limelight are often misquoted.

I think you're the bee's knees! And the Smartest Woman in the World to boot!

I'm going to ask for your autograph in Philly. Hope I remember pen & paper as it will be hard to explain to my husband why I came back with the word "SMOKE" written on my chest.

Congratulations, Donna! I thought you must be pretty good being involved with the pub trivia, but had no idea the extent of it until now. What an honor, and you should be very proud, and I am very proud for you. This was quite an achievement. I wish you the best in all of your future challenges.

OMG!! Yes folks... Thats MY Momma!! Mom, I am soooo very proud of you. Now I guess you wont be fit to live with LOL!! Congradulations! You always told us when we were growing that the things you said were cause you were "smart, that's why" I always knew it and now you have proved just how much. I cant wait to see you at the Philly Conv.

Phitz, in all honesty, I can only lay claim to being the smartest *person* in the ENGLISH-SPEAKING world.

Lodi, I'll write it anywhere you want, honey.

Tuz, sure you are--more than. Wish my shout-out to Sploofus had made the cut; one of the first things I thought of when I got the news was that it was a golden opportunity to get Sploofus and my two pubs some free PR. I still have hopes of that. Turns out the lady who wrote that piece runs a British quiz site (I'm not gonna give her a plug).

Marilyn, I don't think there are going to be any more. I'm retiring at the top.

Sblv, I got into it through a thread on Trivial Tangents. The final rankings are posted there.

Suze, come to Philly and stand next to me! Prop me up if I need it.

Tex, I can deffo help you out the the bread/butter challenge.

Oog, I've been correcting people who call me the Trivia Queen for ages ("I'm no queen, I am the Trivia Mistress, thank you very much!"). I introduce my game every week with "Welcome to London Bridge Tuesday Night Trivia--my name is Donna and I'll be your mistress for the evening." it always gets a laugh, even when everyone's heard it before. Guess I'll have to revise that, at least for one night.

To all the rest of my dear SplooPhriends, thanks so very much. It is I who am not worthy. Check out those standings and look those folks up on Wikipedia. I have zero doubt that if we'd all (Sploofus membership) played the same game, quite a few of you would've beaten me. It really was a harmonic convergence of questions, the perfect game for me. Different questions about the same subjects would've given a very different result. No false humility, simply the truth.

Donna, you must get thee hence to Jeopardy (so they can ask you a final Jeopardy question about Africa...then you'll be sorry you didn't take my advice). For me, it would be science that does me in, especially those mollusks and ferns, and things only Sblv thinks of. Great job - rock on girlfriend.

Congratulations Donna - its a great achievement. Wait till I tell my mother I (sort of) know someone who beat Ken Jennings. She can't stand him. She used to love watching Jeopardy but because of him, she hardly watches it anymore. She used to say that he thought he "knew it all" - LOL. She'll be thrilled you beat him Donna. Maybe you should try going on Jeopardy. Win some money. You deserve it. In the meantime, see you on the island.

OMG Tuzilla. That's the best avatar I've ever seen. I've always fantasized about a man who would love me enough to shave my name in his back hair. Unfortunately I married a marginally hairy redhead.

Funny thing, the original Smoke has a very hairy back (not THAT hairy) and has agreed to wax it for charity to raise money for Kyle Petty's Victory Junction Camp for sick children.

I didn't think that was hair, I thought it was burn marks from when you smoked those guys. Sorta of a female Zorro. Whatever it is you're my hero.
