I finally came around to the Sploofus Show idea and spent a few hours last weekend shooting the video and putting it all together.

The Sploofus Show
Episode 1: Servers, Cables & Mr. Sploofus

You can download it at:

File size is 35 MB.

I'd talk a bit about it here, but I think the video speaks for itself.

Comments? Suggestions for new episodes?

Hope you enjoy it. I know I had fun making it...

I am not getting any sound at all. Is anyone else having a problem with the video? Any suggestions as to what the problem might be?

Great clip!

Nice to see you and your family, Justin. I wish I would be able to make the Phily trip, but...
I hope I will meet you some other time.

By the way, 75 is a speeed limit in Michigan, isn't it?

What are the other parts of the show about?

Thanks for sharing.

No problem for me either.....other than the fact that most of it was over my head. I am the person that came home from school once and asked Ben how to turn on the computer that the school district had just put in my room. Look at me now.....I can Sploof all the time!!!!!!!! Marsha

Didn't understand a word of it. Alas. Kids are cute - got that much. And, you are quite wrong about Michigan. It is a gorgeous state. Ever been to Isle Royale, Justin? Or the agate beaches? Maybe it is time you spent some time AWAY from the servers!

Thanks Justin, after a day of jury duty, that was a highlight! Expected to see Smoke and Tuzilla there, but maybe another day?

Good video. I agree with Bigbird. The further west and north you go, the prettier the state gets.

Tres Cool Justin,

Although I saw your lips moving, I heard "Blah, blah, blah" most of the time (I'm NOT a techno person). I have to tell you that my 8 year old son was mesmerized....I think you need to be his mentor. He kept saying..."Man I'd like to take that apart and put it back together again".

Very neat!!

Thanks buddy!!

I have always been a new-kyoo-lur enunciator. New-clee-ur just sounds so... dorky. Not that the entire endeavor wasn't a total geek fest anyways. There are a few other quirks that I'm wondering if anyone noticed. Obviously I wasn't working from a script, and I do not claim responsibility for what comes out of my mouth when there is a camera in front of me, I have nothing to really say, and visualize thousands of geniuses behind the lens.

(By the way... I doubt that corrugated steel structure COULD survive any type of fission based event anyway... LOL!)

I should have said "Earthquakes, fire, power outage, fission-based events, NO PROBLEM!"

Thanks for the inside peek... of course, being in commercial real estate, I was looking at the building and the rooms.. wondering how much square footage you have (and how much rent/sf you pay for the building - none of my business, I know but - this is what we pay attention to lol). Good job, Justin!

I just now saw your video Justin. I'd seen your picture before from another website, but enjoyed seeing you somewhat in person, your wife, Mariah, Justin. You have a great family! Sorry if I misspelled your daughter's name. I must say, I would have been a nervous wreck if I were riding with you. Originally from Illinois, but have never been to Michigan, and enjoyed the trip to "Sploofus Island". Thanks for all of the insight into the operation even if I didn't understand all of it. Great video, and thanks to Mitchy for helping me with my Windows Media Player default, which is why I couldn't view it originally. Thanks to Rocco for his concern, and to Swiper. Am looking forward to Beta and the next one!

I was a little freaked out when you had the camera turned around videoing the children after just pointing out that you were speeding along a freeway.

My husband choked on his drink when you did the point & wink, then the "please let that be cooler" and the slow-mo.

And Lodi is Low-Dee. LOW. Its Lori with a D instead of an R. I had to endure several minutes of teasing from Kelly because you pronounced my name incorrectly. She can be so cruel. sniff.

Will there be another addition to the sploofus show which includes footage from Philly? Because that would be fun. I'll do the videoing, but I need keys to everyone's rooms.

Finally got it to run--very interesting! Thanks very much for the tour. Nice kids, cute wife!

Now, which one of those machines needs a thump when the expired rounds start?

Let's keep those lights blinking, people! You too, Loddi.

No, it's like a little bitty kid trying to day Lori. LOW-DEE.

Very interesting clip Justin, and nice to see your family. My Real Player kept stopping every few minutes through the film, so I had to try to nudge further in order to play longer the next time. Because of these hold-ups I only got as far as when you were showing the various servers - and then the film stopped again (although the sound quality was good.

I am looking forward to the next video!

Let's set the record straight...I DID NOT...I REPEAT...DID NOT...tease Lodi for the lawdy comment... (ok just a bit...but honestly, can you blame me?). Incidentally, she does leave herself WIDE OPEN most of the time...the teasing just flows without my knowledge most of the time

All of this time, Lodi, I had thought it was pronounced like LOW-DIE, reminding me of a line in I think it was an old Eagle's song. Now I know!

Good Golly Miss Molly...I mean Lodi...I heard it through the grapevine, down on the corner, and even up around the bend, that you should know who actually sings your song

I know! I know! It's the Coocoo Chickfbref Rebellion! What do I win?

Miss fussypants should quit whining about her name being mispronounced by a guy who says nukular and just be glad she got mentioned at ALL! I didn't hear anything about Smoke and nobody called me Doona, but I'm not snivelling.
