It probably would be a good thing for Sploofus to rethink this decision as many players feel very adamant about it and many players enjoy this site who also enjoy bible trivia, after all it does seem a rather trivial thing to upset so many players over. What does it hurt to leave the category in for the ones who enjoy it.It is after all trivia.I consider trivia to be on any subject that is of interest to a person or peoples.Possibly the reason some want it removed is a lack of knowledge on the subject and what better way to learn than to quiz yourself on the subject.Just some thought on the subject....Respectfully... Kathy

Hear Hear!!! - I totally agree with you - I know very little about actresses/actors and movies but I am not complaining about taking it out.

Then next will be sports. Then what ever else may offend someone. Then all that will remain is Indian Tribes and Green Vegeatables. Please draw the line now and keep Bible trivia.

For what it's worth, I think the correct decision is being made.

For some, I can understand how this seems like a rejection of the Bible, but I and most others do not see it this way.

It's not necessarily true that Bible trivia questions are going away completely. The Bible is not being banned from sploofus, and there's no discrimination going on. There will probably still be some Bible trivia questions, and I consider that a good thing.

What *is* being removed, however, is a TQOD category which focuses on the Bible to the exclusion of all else. Such a category does not make sense on sploofus; it is the equivalent of having a "Baseball" trivia category, excluding all other sports. Or having an "American History" category to the exclusion of the rest of the world. Throw in the intensely personal feelings that come along with religion and faith, and you should easily see that such an exclusionary category, when forced upon sploofus members from all parts of the world and all backgrounds, can easily become offensive along with unfair. Just when sploofus is trying their best to extend welcoming features to an ever expanding world audience, keeping the Bible TQOD category as it is could very well counteract all of those efforts.

Having said that, I think that it is important to keep Bible-related trivia on the site, as long as it's in the more inclusive context of other religious texts and beliefs. I think the absolute right thing to do is to include trivia questions of all faiths, or none. Make the category a more worldy one, or don't keep it at all.

With the recent changes in the mechanics of the TQOD game (removing category exemptions), I think sploofus' hand was forced, and they did what they had to do by removing the category initially. I think that this, however offensive it seems to be to some players here, was merely the first step in making the system better as a whole, and more agreeable to the *entire* sploofus community. I predict the eventual creation of a more all inclusive religion/philosphy category, which will give the Bible trivia lovers their questions back, but not the the exclusion of the rest of the world. It will make sploofus a better site, and it will prevent the splintering of the community.

The bottom line is: let's not forget what sploofus is. After all is said and done, it's a trivia game website. It's a place to come and have fun and answer trivia questions. The concept is simple; let's keep it that way.

I find green vegetables very offensive.

Well, good thing we don't have an entire category dedicated exclusively to green vegetables.
