A POSSIBLE ANSWER.

Mr Sploofus gave his reason (and I agree) for removing the Bible TQOTD - it was being used in a cheating exploit to narrow the possible TQOTD and gain an unfair advantage. However, the disappointment in so many of the posts since means that, IMHO, a re-think might be necessary.

How about keeping the ten categories in the most recent poll and allowing each player to opt out of one AND one only. In this way people who do not feel that Religion or the Bible is a valid and acceptable Trivia category can opt out of it - and those who hate Sports can opt out of Sports Soup etc.

I presume that a maximum of one opt out would not allow the aforementioned exploits to continue.

I really enjoy this site and the people on it make me smile.

Hoping this can be resolve without too much trouble

Matthew

I thought Sploofus said they were eliminating all "opt-outs" for any catagories in the Question Of The Day for technical reasons. Either you got none, or all of them....

Yes, Phil, that is the problem. No more "opting out" with the new server/system (whatever it's called).

Too bad, because this whole issue has gotten people very riled up. And even though the subject is open for voting via the polls(democracy rules) it appears as though many will not be happy with the results.

I say, if the Sploofus community votes, everyone should be happy with the decision that we made. After all, we do have a lot of say in what goes on at this site. At least Sploofus actually listens to our opinions and does the best job they can to meet everybody's needs.
