Dear All Sploofus Members,
The owners of Sploofus let us know that they're undertaking new projects, so they no longer have time to maintain the site. They explored all options for assembling a new ownership team, but nothing was viable. So, sadly, the site will close on May 31.

This thread is to provide information. If you have questions, please post them here or submit a support ticket by clicking on the orange HELP link at the top of your screen beside your avatar.

Please understand that we have limited information and may not be able to answer all questions.

The other thread called "Saying Goodbye to Sploofus" is for goodbyes and other thoughts.

If you bought a membership within the last 6 months, we should be able to process a refund for you. Please be patient as it will take us a while to process refunds.

Refunds will go to the card you paid with.

We'll continue to do our best to edit and publish these games through May 30.

We'll do our best, but we may not be able to provide two word puzzles per day from here on out. If we have nothing available, "No word puzzle this a.m." or "No word puzzle this p.m." will appear in place of a title.

If we have time, we may re-run editor-written puzzles from the archive. If we do this, "RE-RUN" will appear in the title.

If you're a Platipuzzle author and would like one of your puzzles re-run, please let us know by submitting a support ticket, and we'll do our best.

To submit a support ticket, please click on the orange HELP link at the top of your screen beside your avatar and follow the instructions.

We'll continue to do our best to provide high-quality customer support through May 30.

Please make sure you have contact information for all your Sploofus friends.

Olaf the Pony, Daisy the Cat, Mary the Goat, and Marty the Dog will continue to play in the Magic Meadow, and they wish you well!

Thank you for your energy and enthusiasm in playing games and in creating countless wonderful quizzes, Kerblunks, Trivia Squares, and word puzzles. We'd also like to thank Justin Morton for creating Sploofus and also the current owners for bringing Sploofus back in 2011.

There's nothing wrong with re-runs. That's what the majority of TV is like, and people enjoy it. Who saw it the first time, anyway? Who cares if you don't always have new material?

Is there absolutely NOTHING that can be done to save Sploofus? It is a lack of funds or a lack of people or both? Hell, everyone else uses a gofundme or one of those things because they want something..... anything, I don't know, a trip to the Bahamas. THIS is a REAL emergency!!

I'll bet if we all pitched in some more money and time (I suspect that's the main problem), couldn't something happen?

This is very sad.

Is there any way to make it easy for us to download our quizzes so we can save them? Is there any plan to archive the site? Lots and lots of great work was done here!

I'm sure many of us would be willing to pitch in! Any Sploofers out there have the skills to maintain the site? I don't care if there are re-runs. The last time this happened I felt lost. I don't know anything about running a website like this but I'm sure someone could.

Unfortunately, there's no easy way for an author to copy a quiz that has been published.

However, if we unpublish the quiz, it would be returned to you, and then copying is easy.

We can accommodate a few requests to unpublish quizzes so that they can be copied, but it would be impossible for us to do that for every author.

If you have a few favorite quizzes that you'd like us to unpublish so that you can copy them, please let us know by submitting a support ticket, and we'll do our best. To submit a support ticket, click on the orange HELP link at the top of your screen beside your avatar.

Please note that we're putting a priority on processing refunds, editing all pending material, and answering support tickets.

No, we editors will remain anonymous.

@Summertime: Yes, the refund will go to the credit or debit card used at the time of purchase. To quote directly from PayPal:

"The refund will go to the card you paid with."

Don't mean to nit pick but when Sploofus came back on we were given the exact time that it would happen.
So when is the exact time we lose Sploofus. Is it May 31 at 0300 EST that the servers are shut down or will the editor let us know.

Hi Richard,
The owner said that unfortunately, he's unable to give us an exact time. His best estimate is sometime in the evening of May 31, but it's possible the servers could be shut down anytime on May 31.

I wonder if Justin knows... I have no contact information for him other than we are friends on Facebook, but his profile looks like
he doesn't check in that often... Maybe Steve or someone would have a phone number for him... I don't know what's going on
in his life right now but he may be interested in saving Sploofus... If you see this, Steve, or anyone Justin's phone number
might call and let him know...
