After reading the posts I will be spending the weekend rebuilding the category exemption system so that all players can again "opt out" of one category of their choosing.

In order to prevent exploits, you will only be able to choose which category you opt out of ONCE. You will not be able to change it daily (hence the exploit referred to earlier)

The Sports category will also be removed from the global list of subscribed categories.

Thank you for hanging in there with me as these changes are made, and thank you for your understanding.

Wow. I think people are going to be very happy about the opt-out feature being reinstated.

Why no Sports? The poll shows a 65% majority for keeping it around. Even though I got three days of Sports, I think it's a great category that definitely adds to my trivia knowledge.

Thanks for being so willing to accommodate us.

Yeah... I love most categories... but SPORTS is my favorite. Keep it!

See you later BIBLE!

Ahhhh I did not realize that the majority was voting to keep Sports on the polls. (Have not looked at the polls since yesterday morning) The polls close tonight at 7 PM EST. Majority votes will be the final word on the global categories.

So, if I understand this correctly:

Each member will be able to make a *one time* choice of *one category* to opt out of?

What about those people who want to opt out of all categories *except for one*? Will that be allowed?

As a person who did not take part of the debate over the past few days and normally does not comment on these matters, I just wanted to let you know that I think you are doing a great job on this site. For the cost of a gold membership, I feel I get more than my money's worth, as is cheaper than my daily coffee. I appreciate all the time that you put into this site and I must say that I found the tone of the debate(? venting) to be disturbing at times and insulting.

Great job overall!!!

A couple of comments. First, I am really impressed with the democratic nature of this site. As seen in the debate of the past couple of days, it gets a bit untidy, but we seem to do a pretty good job of coming to reasonable conclusions.

Second, I rather enjoy the term, "exploit." I wonder what the non-poliically correct term would be.....

And, last, I really am amused at the question of the day cheaters--ah, I mean exploiters. Reminds me of Shakespeare and his quote about life: "it is a tale told by an idiot, full of sound and fury, signifying nothing." I just can't understand why anybody would get satisfaction cheating on the question of the day. Truely, that kind of cheating signifies nothing.

I think that the non-policially correct term would be "CHEATING". It still blows me away that people have the time and desire to set up a bunch of accounts with the same preferences just so they can get more points than me (and others) while I am just so excited to be out-sploofusing my husband. LOL - And here we were not even realizing that there was some sort of pattern. Now I can see how you could cheat on the wordpuzzles. The things people will do to rain on somebody else's parade.

What are you doing? Stopping to eat? You should know better than that!!!

Take your time, I say. Better right later than broken sooner.
