I'M VERY SAD....

Tonight was the series finale of Gilmore Girls. I bonded with my daughter in law over "The Girls" (she got me hooked on it). It was just a funny, quirky, lovely show.

Maybe the "Girls" will go into syndication, and you can watch repeats. Not as good as new episodes, but at least not gone forever. I watch "Frasier" reruns when I can, and I'll be really blue when "Lost" reveals its last mystery in 2010.

Cheer up folks! We still have that "Caveman" show this fall to look forward to!

And the re-release of the "Bionic Woman."

The caveman thing reminds me of some Saturday Night Live skits where they tried to turn them into a movie. It worked as a short bit, but couldn't hold it's own over two hours. I can't imagine what they'll do with the cavement...And, I'm curious now, who's going to play the Bionic Woman?

My 1 cent (cuz that's all it's worth lol)...

I wasn't a fan of Gilmore Girls as the mom seemed to be very immature and tried too hard to act like a teenager, which was very annoying... I know, right!?!?!. (I was a teenage mom and certainly don't act like that now!)

Lost - LOVE this show, love the premise, the mystery and the characters.. yet when they announced another 3 seasons.. I groaned. Although I'd be sad to see it go, I really think dragging it out for 3 years will kill it before the end of that time. Let's get some answers and closure and not turn it into Gilligan's Island. I really don't think it was made to last that long. I'm also getting tired of all the "coincidental" connections between each and every character - hello?!! If 300+ of us were on an airplane, is it really feasable that your father was the man who conned my mother into giving him all our money which then led to the murder/suicide of my parents? and the sad woman I met in an airport 4 yrs ago who just happened to give me a sailboat when I needed one then crashed in an airplane on the very island i crashed that same boat on?? c'mon people (again I still love the drama lol)

And last but not least - SNL skits being made into movies - ok, grant it, Night at the Roxbury et al left much to be desired but.. Wayne's World? great fun.. Coneheads.. laughed my a** off - BIG fan of SNL here...

That's all .. have a nice day as JBJ would say

I never watched the Gilmore Girls but I'm still bitter over the following:

1. X-Files
2. Ally McBeal
3. Arrested Development (best show ever and if you don't believe me, go rent it)

Gilmore girls is in syndication...on ABCFamily. One of the best things about this show were the obscure (and sometimes not so obscure) pop culture references. Perfect for this crew. And nothing like the Golden Girls. geez
As for other cancelled shows, I actually got my letter to the editor printed in Entertainment Weekly last year over the demise of Arrested Development. Funniest show ever! I got the DVDs from hubby for Christmas.

"Arrested Development" is on the G4 Network, if anyone can get it. Of course, I think they can only dream of ratings that second-run Univision games shows draw....

And TV hasn't been the same since Joel was rescued on MST3K.

Leah, I am with you. I had a slight conflict last night as the Country Music Awards were also on, but the girls won out...and I made the right call!! I cam to the show late (after making fun of my friends for watching it>) I now own all the dvds and watch the re-runs whenever i can!

I just can't wait for the reunion shows

What does it say about American taste when Arrested Development, a brilliant show, fails and Anna Nicole Smith can monopolize the airwaves for weeks?

Gilmore Girls was one of my 60+ year old husband's favorite shows. I did watch the series finale with him last night, so he would have someone to talk to about it. He's busy devising spin offs; the campaign trail is the winner. Then, if Obama is successful, she could move right on into the White House.

I personally still miss Murphy Brown.

I was a very big fan of Northern Exposure and Ally McBeal too, Lodi. They were great shows to watch. Very entertaining and the music was really great as well in the shows. I get upset when they take away good tv. Good tv is hard to come by.
Now I watch Lost and my new favorite Grey's Anatomy.

I'm going to hold both of you to that, Steve & Robert. And I've been known to flog the gardener from time to time.

Jo - one of my fav parts of Ally McBeal was when they would perform the songs down with Vonda Shepard. And remember, Ally was how Josh Groban got his start.

Loved Northern Exposure! Remember when they catapulted the piano? And the coffin?Actually, the weird town of Stars Hollow, home of the Gilmore Girls, reminded me of the residents on Northern Exposure. Just thought it might be fun to bring this back to the original topic. And why is that one person yelling? Because he didn't "get it"? Because he's mean? Because he's old? Because he has some kind of Arrested Development? Just curious.

WOW - All The Shouting!

Hmmm, Married With Children, Anna Nicole Smith -- those are completely different genre's...I cringe when thinking of them being in same chat as Ally McBeal, Gilmore Girls, etc. They have their place - I think the Jeff Foxworthy Chat is out there somewhere.

Now I watched Gilmore Girls a bit, and enjoyed Ally McBeal for a while (not last season)...but I guess being the mother of a 15 year old girl, I know you can't always be her best friend...however, writing was witty and enjoyable.

Still missed: X-Files, The Invisible Man (A Sci-Fi Series), M.A.S.H., Raines (poor guy never had a chance I guess), Buffy The Vampire Slayer, Angel, Charmed (love the witty writing on those last three)

Watch: Bones, Medium (would it be that MY family were that normal ), Smallville, Supernatural, The Closer (TNT), The 4400, The Dead Zone...yeah - I guess you get my style.

Ending note - you should not yell at people (all caps) if you disagree with them - we all have different tastes - and all caps is yelling...be nice to each other!

I loved Raines! I also love Bones. Numbers is also a great show. I wonder why shows like Raines get cancelled so quickly. There was also a new show called The Wedding Bells that I thought was very well done. It got cancelled too.

Hmm...some people sure get bent about other people's viewing habits, lol.

I, too, loved Northern Exposure. It was my favorite show ever, I think. I do remember the piano and the coffin but I think my favorite was when Chris went to the city and went to the "Upper Room" club where they all looked like a Michaelangelo's Last Supper. Also, the one where Chris meets his black half-brother .. their daddy was a travelin' man.

I guess I loved everything about Chris, the ex-con, literary existentionalist disc jockey/artist.

THAT was an intelligent show -- and fun besides.

Raines is still with us, just run out of new episodes. You can see them all online and it will be back. Just as good as Raines, but very different was the previous whow from the same writer, called Boomtown, which was terrific but maybe too challenging.

Oh yes - Northern Exposure - what a fun show.

I love movies, GOOD TV (is that an oxymoron?) and all music but rap and opera (Except for Bugs Bunny doing "The Barber of Seville" - that I loved).

I love all the Law & Orders - Cold Case is great - Without a Trace - 24 - CSI - Alias

Another favorite "Gone" show is American Gothic. Taxi - and oh my gosh - Beastmaster, Hercules and Xena - what can I say - they were fun -

I think one of my favorite episodes of Northern Exposure was the one where Ruth Ann took off with the motorcycle gang. Reminded me of something I'd do in my dotage. Since I'm almost there maybe I should be fitted with a set of leathers.
