The Editors have been discussing the fact that some quizzes are based on extremely obscure bits of trivia (which is a good thing for a trivia site!), but leads me to wonder how many people are actually taking these quizzes? We all know that some fun quizzes disappear off the front page too quickly; a subject on which you might be an expert may have slipped past your notice!

Check back here often and take any/all of these quizzes that interest you, that you might have missed when they had their day (or hour) on the front page! After say, one month, let's see how much of an increase each quiz gets! I suppose there should be some sort of an 'obscurity factor', but for this round, let's just see what happens!

So post those ads and let's get those numbers up!

Am I allowed to post the fact that I think that is a most excellent idea? Spot on!

Would it be convenient to post an actual link to the quiz instead of the title? It would make it much more likely that the quiz is taken.

And number of else can we figure out the increase (and make sure everyone is playing fair)!

Well, I have two.

"Jasper Fforde and Thursday Next" (9 takers)
It's about the quirky British book series - if you've read them this will be a snap! If you haven't read them, this quiz might entice you to

"Nashville - the Robert Altman film" (3 takers)
It had 5 Oscar nominations, winning one - surely more than 4 of us have seen this masterpiece???

I think this is a champion idea. I started listening to a radio station Kaelin recommended based upon a quiz she authored. And, I'm game to try a new book. So, here goes...

Just returned from taking 4 quizzes. Fforde and Nashville and the harmonica and boat quiz. Enjoyed them all. Got 0 on the harmonica, however, I must say, the photo at the beginning of the quiz was hysterical. I don't think I even want to know where you found it, Tuzilla.

Great idea. Thank you.

I have only had one. Only 8 people have taken it so far.

I found one. Zorro-Lyrics had 8 takers, and I can inderstand why. It's the lyrics to the theme song for the Zorro TV series from probably the year 1. At the time it was originally shown, probably on cave walls, I loved the show and sang the lyrics ad nausium.

One that came pretty close (if I can sneak this one in), with 14 takers, was Tom Lehrer's "Oedipus Rex" lyrics at , and I'm not sure why that one didn't go over very well. Maybe it was because in the details I included "Can you sing along with the quiz lyrics? If not, DON'T TAKE THIS QUIZ!" Well, now feel free to disregard that warning.

I have 2 quizzes with low takers.

1. My Pecan Day quiz (all about pecans) only had 7 takers. I thought it was interesting when I researched it, but apparently others did not find it so

2. My holiday quiz about the Yule Goat had exactly 10 takers. I was fascinated by this tradition in Sweden and have watched the goat online for the past 2 years. I thought it would do better being a holiday quiz, but the poor goat was shunned!

This is a great idea .. I would never have taken the Yule Goat quiz just from its title. But I just took it and did fairly well for just guessing since I had never heard of this before. What a painless way to learn something new! However, I think it would be more fun if we could yell at the people viewing the goat!

I had four more people who had taken the quiz mentioned above in 2 days since my post. Thanks. I think your idea is working.

The first one is on the funny movie "Doctor Detroit" which I really like, but I guess not many others do...and the second one is a quiz on Lisa Kudrow's show "The Comeback."

Take my quiz: Doctor Detroit

Take my quiz: The Comeback

Hmm I just noticed something interesting; the figure of takers on the 'Your Quizzes' page and the number of results listed on the actual results page for that quiz don't match the number listed as 'top # leaders' on the home page for the quiz (where a taker is first shown the detail of the quiz).

For those three of mine listed above -
Cadfael - yr quizzes & results = 14 takers, 'top # leaders' = 13
Anne McCaffrey - 10 and 9
New tricks - 9 and 7!

How piggy-hoo-lear!!

Wed, 23rd May '07 3:26 AM"> Take my quiz: Would you use these chat-up lines?

I only have one with few takers and I even tried changing the name to see if that would help.

It's about witty sarcastic comments made by famous people and you guess who said it.

Beryl, I think it has something to do with people who don't finish the quiz, or get a computer glitch in the middle.

Let me try this again
ok i have a national hot rod assc quiz that has been up forever and only has 4 takers
then i have one on mount everest with 10 takers, i have one on saddle seat equitation with 8 takers.. i have my hatari 2 quiz with 7 takers...and i think that there are a couple of others.. but they changed over the last couple of days.. a group of people have taken a whole slew of my very ecclectic quizzes over the last two days ( hunter thompson, valhalla, origin of the poppy) all of them were under ten just day before yesterday ( and they were written and launched like 10 months ago) i seem to have some new fans now that i am back
but i have four that i know were launched before april and have 10 or less
mount everest
hatari 2
saddle seat equitation

I have several with disappointing showings, but only one which meets the criteria:

I suspected it would have limited appeal but it was a labor of love, written just as I finished reading "Gertrude and Claudius".
