How often do they change the top 25? Is it a weekly thing? Seems those 25 quizzes have been up there for quite some time, if you go by their launch dates.

Also - there seem to be newer quizzes that are having more hits than the lower one or two on that list....

Does it update daily? Automatically? Throughout the day?

Anyone know the answer or where the answer can be found?

I believe the list is updated daily. The quiz remains on the list for 10 days from the day it was created. A quiz makes it to the list based on the number of times it is taken, and the rating - I'm not sure of the exact formula. On a given day, say 4 quizzes fall off the list (because they are 10 days old), then the 4 highest rated quizzes come on. A quiz usually has to have over 100 takers, and have a high rating to make it on the list.

I hope this helps.

Thanks - where did you find this? On the site? I see, and I posted in it, there is another thread on this already. Clearly this forumla needs to be found somewhere on the site, and if it is, somewhere it is easier to find.

Clearly, it is not updated enough. Wouldn't it make more sense to have the algorithm be one that constantly allows for itself to update? Like the All-time leaderboards and monthly leaderboards? Why is it updated daily, why not continuously? And then, more folks can benefit for the exposure.

If the program allows for more than just quiz takers to calculate what is the most popular, then we should see some of those quizzes that have been taken 500+ times fall down the list, like a top 40 song on America's Top 40. It would be at number 2 one week, the next 6, the next 9 - but it would could track its progress.

Now it seems quizzes make the list, and they sit there. I have a quiz that launched last night that has more takers in one day, and the same difficulty, than the number 25 quiz on there right now - and that quiz launched 05/30/07!

That doesn't make any sense.

Your quiz should be on the list tomorrow, I would think. The only thing on the top 25 list that is dynamic is the number of takers. I'm not sure why, but that is the way things are. Maybe some changes will be made as part of beta 2.0, whenever that comes out.

Madine - Whether or not a quiz makes it to the list, or how fast it makes it to the list, is also a function of how highly it is rated by those who take it. Quizzes that score in the 8-9 range need fewer hits to get them onto the list than quizzes that score around 7. So, EA quizzes have an advantage since they tend to score more highly.
