I wish I could, Felix, and I wish you could too. I never really knew my father.

Happy Father's Day to all the dads! I wish you all a great day with your children or your own dad - hopefully both. The most wonderful thing I've seen happen in my life is that in my generation more fathers began to learn that it's okay to show affection for their kids.

Oh, yeah, and to change diapers!

To all the Dads that are no longer with us:

Yeah... this right here (tell me why)
Goes out, to everyone, that has lost someone
That they truly loved (cmon, check it out)

I'm ALWAYS Missing You

Every step I take, every move I make
Every single day, every time I pray
Ill be missing you
Thinkin of the day, when you went away
What a life to take, what a bond to break
Ill be missing you

Big hugs to all the dads out there! I think I read somewhere that anyone can be a father but it takes someone special to be a daddy.

I would like to take a moment to recognize the step-dads and adopted dads who fill such a necessary void in a child's life - not because they have to, but because they want to.

Happy Fathers Day to the single moms & dads who must be BOTH a mom and a dad. Your children will grow up knowing how strong they can be with you as a role model.

I am so sorry for your loss too, Felix...I lost my Dad 2 years ago and to me it is still just like yesterday. I miss him every day but know that he is always with me, as yours is with you. The way I get through it is to remember how very lucky I am to have had him as my father for the years I did and, hopefully, we will be together again someday.

Happy Father's Day to all the Sploofus dads...I hope your day is as special as all of you

Father's Day is a little sad for me, too. I lost my father five days before Father's Day a few years ago. But good memories outweigh the sad ones. Best wishes to all you fathers.

My dad lives over 1500 miles away. He has a wonderful, dry sense of humor. I talk to him frequently by telephone, but I miss being able to see him every day and to be able to talk to him about silly, unimportant things.

So, if your dad is close, give him a big hug and cherish your close proximity!

Lodi you are so right & I don't know how I missed the steps, as I am a step-mother. After a while you just forget they're not your own.

Felix, my heart goes out to you & yours, as you struggle through the loss of your beloved father.

I'm sorry about the loss of your Dad, Felix. I lost mine when I was took me many, many years to come to terms with his passing. These days I honor his memory happily, and have found a path of memory without grief.

Happy Fathers Day to all the Dads out there......treasure 'em!

Happy Father's Day, to all Dads everywhere.
Felix, very sorry to hear of your sad loss of your Dad, I really feel for you.

I only knew my late Dad, for a year and a half (as an adult).
After my Mom & Dad's messy split, when I was only 8..I went to live with my dad for 11 months, when I was 16..but we were unfort. like chalk 'n cheese (the generation gap thing, I believe)..
When I was 37, my Dad found me again (I was living in a different country by this time)..I loved having my Dad living so near me, we talked regularly about anything and everything..(mostly about politics, me being a Democrat, him being a Republican (in the British version of the Government), but he could see my point of view at times..
He loved debating, but as he was by now 70 years old, there was no-one else left to debate with.(apart from me ofcourse)..
Don't get me wrong, he still had ALL his faculties.
He loved talking his grandkids out, (my elder children), buying them nice clothes, ice-creams Etc, and generally just being with, and around us all.
About 18th. months later, he went into a retirement home, just for 8 days (for religious reasons).
He wanted me to have the address, and the telephone number of the rest-home.
I can remember saying to him, "Dad, Why?. We'll all see you in a couple of weeks, won't we?..
Unfortunately, it was not to be..through his ill health,(which I didn't even know about, till they carried out an autopsy), he sadly passed away in that retirement home..

I knew my Dad for only 18 months.. what a waste.
Apart from my ex, and my current Partner, Sarah (Madahlin on Partner for life Please God), no-one knew about this, so I ask you all to give YOUR dad, an extra big hug, and remind him that you love him.
Lastly, may I please send condolences to all the Sploofers on here, who have lost their Dads, in whatever circumstances.
