Not that anybody will care, but I hereby announce my intention to boycott quizzes which shout out "Easy!!!" in the title to get my attention. How annoying.

Na, na, na, na, na (you already took mine with "Easy" in the title).

I'm confessing something here: I had tried different tactics to see what quiz might make it into the Top Ten. Perhaps it was the subject matter, or maybe the timing, but my only quiz to get there so far is the one with "Easy!" in its title. It was a carefully constructed quiz that took a while to research and write, so I don't feel bad about it.

I don't typically write "EASY" quizzes, but I do confess to at least one: I did an EASY Star Trek TOS quiz as a way (which didn't work) of introducing people to my other Star Trek quizzes...But, except for my very first quiz ("For original Star Trek fans"), my EASY quiz has the most takers of all my Star Trek quizzes...

The occasional EASY quiz seems Ok...but not things like "Green Vegetables - EASY!! - #47 of 210."

OK Eric. I promise not to put "easy" in my quiz title if you promise to author more fantastic quizzes!;0)

A guy emailed me to say that all the correct answers in his quizzes were uncapitalized. That is beyond easy. I did not take the batch of quizzes he was refering to.

I think you should title your quiz anything you want as long as it actually matches the quiz. It would be wrong to put easy on a hard quiz, or title a quiz "Julia Roberts Movies" and then the quiz is about sub-atomic particles. Of course, I know none of you would ever stoop so low!

If anybody ever did stoop that low, I'm sure their quiz ratings would stoop even lower!

Personally, I feel one should not label quizzes as easy or hard - unless they are of the type that are so easy they are an insult to one's intelligence (do I assume that's what you mean by the Green Vegetable reference?).

Whether a quiz is easy or hard is relative to one's own interests and life experiences. For example, the easiest quiz in the world would be hard for me if it was on American Sport, partly because I am not interested in sport and partly because I am not American. However, a hard quiz on Medical Terminology would probably be a piece of cake to me because that's my area of professional expertise.

Labelling quizzes as easy or hard will automatically put some quiz-players off. And if a quiz-player plays your quiz and doesn't find your description accurate, they'll be annoyed and probably give it a lower rating because they feel misled. And it could upset some quizplayers if they do poorly at a quiz which is supposed to be easy - no-one likes to be made to feel stupid.

I have seen some quizzes that have an easy, hard and genius level, which I like...if I know the subject I will take all three...if I don't know it at all I won't take any. If it's something I know a little about I will take the easy version and see how it goes.

But I guess I am trusting that the author is being truthful about it!

I'm worried now about this because I have two quizzes in the works that play off the word EASY! One is a wordplay quiz and the other is a movie quiz with EASY in teh title! (Now don't go stealing my ideas!)

I hate to think eksimba wouldn't take them :'-(

And BTW - the only quiz I ever had make it to the Top 10 did NOT have "easy" in the title...It was "Astrological Sign Symbols" which I thought sounded pretty tough!

Hey eksimba, by request now, I've just changed my quiz to 'Familiar and popular' not 'easy' books.

So now I expect you to play and have fun with it!

From no longer easy, Blaine!

Coming into this late, I see that I'm in the criminal classes ...
I'm on the way through writing an 'Easy' series on Geography - but only to differentiate from the 'Hard' version that always accompanies it, honest!
And they never make the top 10 anyway! (

Surreyman can write an easy quiz??? Are you slumming? By the way, you missed my Ghosts of London quiz while you were on vacation, a shameless plug I know, but I was wondering how you would do on it.
