SPLOOFUS PLEASE HELP

my quiz; do you know where this word comes from

is inaccessible.
When you go to try the quiz you call up another quiz 'what a way to go'.
This is maurlin's problem as i understand it.

Garrybl

I will post a help note but still...

I just finished taking " what an odd way to go" ,great quiz btw, then i clicked on the quiz you mentioned and sure enough, the above quiz came up.I also clicked on that one as well and it said i had already taken it,so at least no-one can redo it and ace a score.

The only way I could get around that problem was to do another quiz, changing just one thing in the title, like perhaps adding an exclamation point, and then copying the entire quiz to the new version. After having had to do it a few times for various of my quizzes, I've finally gotten quite adept at it. What is easiest for me is to copy each question entirely, including the answers, and then paste it into the corresponding question in the new quiz. Then I transfer the answers to that question to the correct and wrong answer spaces and finally delete the answer portion of the copied question. That saves having to go back a number of times for the various answers. With a little practice, doing the 10 new questions for the new quiz goes pretty quickly.

What hasn't worked out well is being able to get rid of the offending quiz that still remains. I was told that there is 1 editor who is permitted to or knows how to delete the former quiz, but so far no Editor has stepped up to do it. Those duplicates still show up on the quiz list.

When I have an old abandoned quiz I just "edit" a new quiz into it. Of course, the glitch could hit the new one on launch.

I just tried to take your quiz "Around the World With ten new Words" and I got the message "That quiz does not appear to be available any longer. Please email support@sploofus.com for further assistance." Is that the one you redid to replace "Do You Know Where this Word Comes From?" that has another of your quizzes in its place. If so, Justin really should quit fiddling with that new variation and fix what we have here!

Linda, my impression from what Justin has been saying is thta when the new version comes out, these problems will inherently be solved - he seems to be working under the belief that a complete overhaul is necessary, the best way, and/or the simplest way to fix the flaws of this version, and that patching this problem would be only a stopgap that would be cleared up in 2.0 anyway.

What this all means is that his devotion to improving the site via the new version, even if it provides some short-term headaches, should not be construed as negligence. Let's hope it's ready soon.

Ya cant fix 3 things without breaking one,my lord, give the poor man a chance,he is doing his best. If i offended anyone,i am sorry, but put yourself in his shoes. Not being a smart azz, just being realalistic. Instead of moaning ,whining and whingen, step up and offer to help.

I'm curious about your statement...be realistic - offer to help. Since no one has the ability to correct the stated problem except Justin, not even the editors, who is being realistic?

Looks like we need Justin, if only to play referee......
Has anyone tried that new site which keeps popping up on the Trivia Quizzes?
It makes the Sploofus Island look like a Miracle of Technology.
They say it's fast paced.......fell off my chair waiting for the screen to change
They have so many quakes you'd think you were in San Fran.
You have to have money to play !!!!
I'm happy happy happy I found Sploofus !!!!

It is live, and results are being posted, but I just took your "What Country ...Word" quiz, and my questions were about folks' unusual deaths.
