I GIVE UP!!!!!!

We were asked to vote on this a few days ago.A poll was posted and we voted.Correct? The majority voted to take off TQOTD category of the bible. They also voted to not have a new TQOTD category of religion and philosophy.Correct?By the way, people,i voted to keep the bible category the first time, although i will suck at it.So what!!We are all good in at least one of the categories offered, some are most likely better in 2 or more.So be it!!I have nothing against any of TQOTD categories. So go ahead and give me my philosophy questions, which i will fail miserably.(Took the course my freshman year in college and i do not care what the teacher says-a table is a table no matter how you look at it).Justin has tried to be fair to everyone on the site and he has done a pretty good job of it.He could have not even asked us to vote, just went ahead and taken off what he wanted to.This post is not,i repeat,is not against anyone personally. If worse comes to worse,he might just take TQOTD off the site period.I think that would solve everyone's issues about the categories-there be should be no question of the day. Therefore no one can say it's discrimination.

Well said Action, I am so fed up with all this damn moaning all the time, it certainly takes the fun out of a fabulous site.

It is a game for goodness sake.......enjoy and take things easy a bit.

Just for the sake of playing the devil's advocate (and because it kind of irks me) seems kind of petty to me, knowing that there are so many folks out there that feel so strongly about keeping it, that 50+ percent of us would vote to exclude religion, the bible, and philosophy, knowing that we can opt out and it will never, ever affect us.

I think I understand your point tjw, but what if someone is not religious at all and doesn't want either of those categories and also is not a sports fan and doesn't want that one either? They probably won't vote yes for the bible or religion either and they're not doing it to be petty. They just don't want any of those categories. Now someone could come back and say "well maybe we should just revote everything because I would have voted no for sports/movies/geography whatever... had I known we could have been exempt from a category."

What probably should have happened (hindsight is always 20/20) is that the exemption should not have been announced until after the voting. The whole exemption thing throws off what people really want. The voting should have been for the categories you wanted included - end of story. Then the vote would have truly been for what the majority wanted.

I only hope that this current vote settles things once and for all so that we can MOVE ON.

Amen, Tracy.

Beth, don't forget that everybody voted *for* all of the other categories even without the exemption. There's no reason to believe that they would change and vote *against* any category now that we have the exemption. The opposite would be true.

What sploofus is doing right now is aboslutely the best thing to be done. Just think, in a little under 72 hours this issue can be put to rest and we can move on!!!!

This is a good move by sploofus. We started voting before the campaign started last time and that is being corrected. I don't think many of the people here understood the arguments when they first voted. Now, after those have been thoroughly aired in the chat, we all can make an informed decision that can stand. However, I think that we should all resolve, this time, to accept the decision.

I have to admit, I was a little depressed when there would be no more category exempsion, because I figure, since we're allowed to vote, it says you can get an automatic 3000 sploofus points.
So whether I reach level 10 next week, or in 2008 I'm not worried, because it's fun taking the quizes on this site.
Have a great day everyone. John
