I have had an idea, based on the fact that I'd like to catch up on the quizzes from before I came on board with Sploofus -- but I know I never will.

Justin, how about the following? Every day you set up a new category (call it blast from the past) and pick up 10 quizzes that were set up on this day of the year -- but in 2005/6/7. include all the EA quizzes from that day.
So every day we get some random sample of old and perhaps otherwise inaccessible quizzes.

What fun! I love that idea!

That's a very good idea, but a random selection of pre-editor quizzes could bring up some truly awful ones that may still be around. How about an editor-selected 10 quizzes from 20 or 30 randomly picked ones? Of course, that puts an increased burden on the already busy editors. Another possibility would be to randomly select quizzes rated, e.g., 7 or higher to eliminate lower quality ones.

I like the idea. I used to write under the name of Linda but quit over a trivial issue. When I rejoined shortly after I had to use the name of Heidi. Have been a member under one of those names almost from the outset of the game. Have found some of the newer quizzes are almost a repeat of past ones. Some like those of a woman named Docshy cannot be duplicated, however. If you have not tried hers you should find and take-much fun. She is long gone now along with others. I have a couple of EA's believe under the name Linda but they were far from the most popular ones with folks in general. I believe a decision has to be made if it will be Ea or popularity. At some point when editors came on the scene we were told that they would be going back and editing old pre-editor quizzes. Some of us made the attempt to fix typos, spelling errors, etc. that quizzes were rife with before the editors were set in place. You just thought up, typed, and launched a quiz. There were not too many of us then Just some thoughts Linda

That sounds like a really cool idea.

I thought we could already do outdated quizzes....
Today I was doing quite a lot of older ones because
I was looking for interesting subjects....

Maybe this would work....go into the Category you like
Scroll down to the bottom and there it says "next 30 quizzes"
Wouldn"t that take you into the old ones????

OR you could just keep asking for quizzes by a favorite author.
They take you back to their old quizzes....
Again - just my uneducated guesses!!!!

That's a neat idea ... especially for u folks who weren't around in the early days.

Might be interesting to see how subject matter and style have changed since then.

I love this idea! There are so many great quizzes out there, & I would love to be able to see older quizzes I might have missed.

Sorry folks , it doesn't say "next 30" on the Trivia Quizzes site.
Only on the BBSchat.
But you can go back either by category or by author.

My way of finding older quizzes is to go to the "Most Popular" quizzes page, scroll down to my favorite category, and click on the subcategories. If you do this, it will show only the quizzes you haven't taken, which makes finding a quiz to take much easier. I don't know if it shows all the quizzes ever written, but it shows a lot! Now if I could only figure out how to purge all the Harry Potter quizzes from Poetry and Literature! I also turn to the EA page when I can't find good quizzes to take.

All the old quizzes are accessible.

You just click on the topic (on the home page, and then click on one of the subtopics at the top of the next page. All quizzes ever posted in that subtopic are then listed (except the ones you have already taken!), from newest to oldest. Just take some time to scroll down.

I like to take the older quizzes. Like Larrybus says, some are pretty bad, but there are a lot of gems. I second Linda's recommendation of Docshy's quizzes! If I find a quiz author that is no longer a member, I use the link below, just substitute the user name after "pu=".

Here's Docshy's list of quizzes:

Thanks, Missashlee. If only some of the old quizzes are featured, it would be impossible to treat all the past quiz authors equally. We might create more squeaks. For those interested, start digging!
