Okay just thought I would post here and let ya'll know what was going on so I didn't end up with Kelly (AKA Chick) riding my rear end for not telling anyone. Long story short, I've had chronic Tonsillitis going on for the last year as well as sinus and ear problems on and off. For the most part I have just ignored it and sucked it up until it got to the point that it hurt to swallow anything. My regular doctor finally got me to go see and ENT (Ear, Nose and Throat) specialist. Anyway I went to the ENT yesterday morning. He took one look at my tonsils and said "They need to come out and some out soon." So he set me up for surgery Friday morning at 11:45am. I am scared to death about it. My biggest fear is that I will start bleeding and they won't be able to get it to stop. I was suppose to have my tonsils out in July 2003 and that ENT wouldn't do it because my blood wouldn't clot up right. Which just makes me more nervous about it all. So keep me and GroupW in your thoughts Friday, he's going to be dead on his feet because he won't get home until around 6 am and then we have to be at the hospital no later than 10:15am. Ugh...he'll only get a couple hours sleep.

P.S. Sorry I haven't been around much lately. Between work, school starting for the kids, doctors (had an EVLT on my leg done 3 weeks ago) and life in general, I've just kind of been lost in this funky mood that has crept up on me. Miss you guys.....and to quote Arnold.....I'll be back.

LOL Ice cream....we'll see about that. I've read that ice cream isn't the great to eat after you get your tonsils out because it leaves a film on the scabs and can cause some issues, so we'll see how that goes. Plus all the good ice cream has nuts and cookies in it. I plan on going and stocking up on gatorade, ice, water, jello, broths and such things just in case I need them because I can't manage to eat real food for a little while. The recovery....ahhh, not worried about it. I know it will hurt but it will go away. I am expecting the worse and hoping for the best as far as recovery goes. I know it won't be a walk in the park.

I was expecting the EVLT to be nothing as far as recovery....LOL....wrong! When the doctor said there would be some bruising....I didn't expect my entire inner thigh from my knee to groin to be black from all the bruising. was tender as could be for about 2 weeks. Oh least it's healing up now and no longer hurts. *shrug*

Shawna - what are doing with a kid's problem? There is a limit as to how young you can make us think you are. I know everything will be well with you and I will certainly send some good energy your way on Friday. You'll be back with us before you know it!

Take care,

Sorry I didn't read your post until this morning - haven't been on much.

My prayers will be with you today that the Lord guides the surgeon's hands, and those who are assisting as well.

Take care and get lots of rest.

Shawna, Love and prayers to you. Don't buy into the ice cream, burns like hello. Had mine out in adulthood too. Stick with the clear water based things. When its over and you've healed, you will wonder why you waited so long. Good luck. See you back soon!!! Cindy

I'm less groggy this morning. I'm drinking a bit better today then I was last night. I ate some frozen mango puree stuff earlier this morning and just decided I was going to try to eat something more substantial. So I made a few Tontino's Pizza rolls and yeah it was rough swallowing them and took me nearly an hour to eat the 6 of them but I managed.

or a continuous process????

With apologies to my wonderful better half, I have to post this. The doctor that removed them said that her tonsils were so large and swollen that he was going to save them and use them for catfish bait, lol.
She deserves all the sympathy that she can get!
Mostly for putting up with me but for the tonsilectomy also....
