Go check out the Newbie Corner post and add your comments if this has been bugging you for a while. I'm tired of people rating 1 and 2's just because they do poorly in the quiz. I think if we try to cut off all new sploofusers and make them aware how important the ratings are, then it can only improve the situation (if only slightly)
Thanks guys

Actually, that's already been happening for a few years. Anybody who consistantly gives a 1 or a 2 instead of a mix simply gets their ratings removed each night. It's done by average. However, if they give you an 8 and somebody else a 1, that would be considered ok, since there would seem to be judgement involved.

How do you know if someone gave you a rating of one or two on a quiz? Help!!

As far as I can tell, you only know what someone has rated a quiz if you keep track of every single taker and do the math as the average changes. Too much time and trouble if you ask me. If you check when only one or two people have taken a quiz, I guess you could figure it out. But why bother?

And then, of course, there are those few people who send a nasty message saying basically, "I don't like you or your stinkin' quiz. I gave it a one." But I don't think we have many members like that. Those who are really that dissatisfied don't hang around too long.

I cannot control how someone else wants to rate my quizzes. How we rate a quiz is something each of us must decide for ourselves. So I just do not worry about it. In the long run, a decent quiz ends up with a decent rating. There are enough of us that the averages work out pretty well, I think.

I'm just here for a little fun -- an a few mental calisthenics.

You can tell when you rating drops and you get a note saying ... "You $#%*)&(^, why don't U right about sometin' you no 'bout" then you look up the 20% the player got and you write back asking for clarification (as if you needed it) and you get no response.

This is a personal response. I have never given anyone a score of 1 to 4. Once I gave a 5 and sent him back a list of errors and corrections. Most quizzes rate 7 or 8 and all EA's and quizzes that show originality score 9.

I never rate a quiz based on how well or poorly I did. I only rate based on 1) enjoyment; 2) how interesting the topic is; 3) how unique the topic is; 4) how much the quiz has questions that have been asked many times before on other quizzes; 5) how much I learn (which I rate the highest, actually); or 6) if there are errors, I just rate it "needs work" and send a note about the errors I found. I've gotten 20% before and rated it excellent. It's about the quality of the quiz, not the quality of my brain! ha

I agree, I never rate based on my score, which some times is really bad. I score based on how they worded it or the idea it's self. I have a question based on I get a lot of people sending me good mail, like good job, nice one, i enjoyed it, but then my score dosnt reflect that and the ones i do not recive mail for get a great rating. Whay is this???

When I worked as a server the people who told you what a wonderful job you did were usually the worst tippers. Maybe it is the same concept. Actually, they were the second worst tippers. The worst were the ones who included a religious tract as part of your tip.
