Hello everyone,

Can anyone give a detailed explanation on what the Sploofactor is? I've been a member for a short time & all of a sudden, I noticed my Sploofactor is @ 6.44. What's the criteria needed to get, keep, & increase it? I tried looking in a few places, and might've overlooked it, but couldn't find info on it.

Also, does someone know the criteria for the proficiency badges that list the %age of correct answers for the TQOTD? I know as a member's account grows older a lesser %age is required to get the badges, but don't know @ which specific times (10 weeks, or 20 weeks, ..) you're eligible for the different %ages. I may not have explained that clearly enough: I'm looking for a chart, maybe - Ex:
11 weeks can have badges @ 100% - 89%
14 weeks = 88% - 80% ...

Thanks for your time

How it works: "Category Proficiency Badges"

When one first begins playing Sploofus, it is extremely easy to have lots of badges because you have only been asked a few questions in each category. New players only have to answer 3 or 4 questions correctly in a particular category to show 100% proficiency (60% is even easier).

Veteran players who have been served hundreds of questions in each category are at a severe disadvantage to the new players.

To solve this problem, and allow newer player's badges to carry the same significance as a veteran player's badge, the accuracy percentage is adjusted depending on how long you have been playing Sploofus.

Here is the minimum percentage cutoff for diplaying badges, depending on how long you have been Sploofusing:

Less than 2 weeks: 100% accuracy in category
2-4 Weeks: 97% minimum accuracy in category
4-6 Weeks: 94% minimum accuracy in category
6-8 Weeks: 91% minimum accuracy in category
8-10 Weeks: 88% minimum accuracy in category
10-12 Weeks: 85% minimum accuracy in category
12-14 Weeks: 82% minimum accuracy in category
14-16 Weeks: 79% minimum accuracy in category
16-18 Weeks: 76% minimum accuracy in category
18-21 Weeks: 73% minimum accuracy in category
21-25 Weeks: 70% minimum accuracy in category
25-29 Weeks: 67% minimum accuracy in category
29-33 Weeks: 64% minimum accuracy in category
33-37 Weeks: 60% minimum accuracy in category
37-41 Weeks: 55% minimum accuracy in category
42 Weeks or older: 50% minimum accuracy in category""

this was found by choosing "leaderboards" in the menu above then choosing 'sploofactor' :::

""A Sploofactor is a calculation that ranks players by how many quizzes they have taken, their average accuracy, and their average time per question, using a formula which creates a higher "Sploofactor" for good performance in each of those three categories.""

hope that helps.. maybe someone else has more info??? ...

Probably more than you really wanted to know about Sploofactor can be found at

Thank you. Now I'm tempted to work the equation, like I really need something else to do.
But seriously,

Thanks so much for taking time out to reply.

Did you type all of that into your profile?

No need to re-invent the wheel. This was in the forums a while ago:
Missashlee figured this out and it appears to be quite accurate. Have fun with it!

Duh!!! I didn't even look after I posted, Diane. I just always remember that post because Missashlee is so mathematically gifted. My apologies.

Sargon, is that a quest for me?

Thanks to everyone for the answers & replies.
I thought I had checked the box to receive a notification of any posts. Maybe when I backed out of the page & then returned, the box was cleared, but my point is, I probably won't look for new posts as often as I have been lately.

It's been enlightening. l-)

If Sargon's quest is for me, then yes, my personal assistant was a great help.
