Do the TQOTD questions get harder the higher your level? If anyone has a definitive answer on this I would like to know. The reason I am asking is I've missed around 5 out of my last 7 wagers on vocab in the past two months, and my overall percentage dropped in the category about ten percent, not to mention I lost half of my points. Is that because I'm at a higher level, or did I just get a series of stinkers? I know that's the risk I take, and am not upset about it, just wondering for future wagering purposes. Thank you.

If you go to Sploofus Survival Guide that should answer your query.

Took me a while to find the survival guide but I did get my answer, thanks Achad. The questions do get harder as the levels go up, was wondering why every question had people getting them right 30% or less of the time, some as low as 4% or 5% of the time. Maybe it's beneficial then to ignore all my questions, let them expire, and just do vocab so they don't get any harder? Dunno. Thanks for the help.

I am afraid that the Sploofus Survival Guide is out of date, as that information is not correct.

When Sploofus was first born, I believe it was Justin's INTENTION to save the more difficult questions for higher levels, but the database does not currently make that distinction. It is one large pool of questions randomly sent out to every player, regardless of level.

The original question pool (which I believe Justin purchased) had about 1200 questions. Editors have since added over 2700 questions to the pool for a total of almost 4000. We have been asked to balance the load between easy and difficult (we can look at the stats for questions we have written, showing percentages of players guessing each answer choice). There is a filter in place that stops an editor from receiving his/her own questions.

But otherwise it really is random luck-of-the-draw. There is just as much chance to get a simple question at Level 50 as there is to get a brain-buster at Level 1.

Thank you for the update, Sploofizz!

I read on the BBS a long ago that it’s just a random draw from the whole database, but it’s so great to get some more insight behind the scenes, so to speak.

And it also explains one TQOTD I got a while back that I could have sworn was written by a particular Editor!

It was so wordy, it took me nearly 20 seconds to read the question, and I only had about 10 seconds to read the answers and pick one. LOL!

But I really did like the question, honest. Just not one I would expect on a lightning-round type game like TQOTDs.

You're right Missashlee. That came up on the Editor Forum too. There were a couple, and the writer reviewed several and amended them. Be sure to let us know when you see something like that.

Is the Survival Guide going to get an update?

Thank you Sploofizz, you're a lifesaver! Now I can boldly wager again hoping an easier one is on its way!

And Misashlee, remember to report such Questions via the Support Ticket system.

Achad, Justin's busy with a lot of more urgent tasks right now, but I can tell you that he's been developing a new set of informational resources for players that will go far beyond what's in the "Survival Guide".
