HOW LONG ARE SHOWDOWNS VALID

I am going on vacation for 9 days in December. I think trivia showdowns are only valid for 7. Is there any way to decline showdowns while I am gone so I don't lose by default?

Thanks.

I'd love to know the answer to this, I took a break and lost a bunch of showdowns. Anyone?

you do not lose points by default or by an incorrect answer when you are the one challenged in a showdown..

only the challenger can lose points on a showdown if they answer incorrectly or slower than the player they challenged.

you do gain points if you win.

you also prevent the challenger from jumping ahead of you and the other members immediately ahead of you on the leaderboards if you win.

you have 168 hours to answer a showdown, that's 7 days..

i don't think you can suspend them or opt out of them either.

I'm pretty sure that you do lose points for NOT answering and that would be a concern for me as well. My holiday is more than 7 days.

ok.. this is what the survival guide says..

SPLOOFUS SHOWDOWN TOKENS
Each week, you will receive ONE Showdown Token. These tokens may be accumulated and redeemed at your leisure. Showdown Tokens allow you (the challenger) to 'challenge' the Sploofus player immediately AHEAD of you on the current all time leaderboard (the challengee). If you redeem a showdown token, a notice will instantly be sent to the challengee. You and the challengee will then be given a random Sploofus question from the challengee's current game play level. You will both be given the exact same question. The challengee then has 7 days to respond to your challenge. If he/she does not, you win the showdown. Otherwise, the player who answers the question correctly the fastest, wins. If you (the challenger) wins, you are credited 10% of the challengee's total Sploofus Points; the challengee however does not lose those points. Only the challenger assumes risk with this system. If you (the challenger) loses, the challengee claims 10% of your total Sploofus Points. In the event of a stalemate (both the challenger and the challengee answer the question incorrectly) no action is taken.

it's up to you to decide what "Only the challenger assumes risk with this system." means.

Thanks for responding

"The challengee then has 7 days to respond to your challenge. If he/she does not, you win the showdown. " this is what I was concerned about, if I am challenged, and an unable to respond because I am on vacation, I do indeed lose the challenge.

Deasmom:

If you are challenged to a Showdown and you do not respond, you do not lose any points whatsoever.

However, the Showdown will show up in your Showdown History as "LOST".

There is no way you can lose any points if you are the one who is challenged.

This I know for sure from experience.
