OLD COMPUTER SYSTEMS

Hi Brenda/4getful1....I saw your other post and wondered if you know about the way I kept my system alive for so long????

The systems slows down and starts to go "wonky" - not only because of Space Available, but also because there too many Cookies etc. in the Temporary files....
So....You can go into the START menu and click on Search....
Plug in **System Restore**....it will ask you for a date.
I see no reason why you shouldn't plug in **Jan 1st 2002**.... [I usually went back to Sept 1st 2006, because that's when my computer savvy son moved out....and the last time I remember the system working well....]
The system will go back and wipe out everything you did wrong or want erased from that Restore date. If you want something that you downloaded after 2002, I guess you can reload it....
The other alternative is to use Disc clear, Scandisk and Defrag. from the Start menu.
I didn't use them because the system was soooo messed up it wouldn't Scan or Defrag anymore....I finally decided to take it off *Life Support*, when I needed to restore the whole d*** system almost every day!!!!
And I couldn't finish any of the Word Puzzles!!!!
Hope that helps....
