Just in case your local radio station hasn't yet got you reaching for the off switch (or a hammer), here's a few of my favourite Hallowe'en related tunes. Feel free to add to 'em!

1. Werewolves of London - Warren Zevon (Arooo!)
2. Ghost Riders in the Sky - (pick your own version but I'm having Johnny Cash. Or maybe Gene Autry.)
3. Highway to Hell - AC/DC (with Bon Scott, scariest export ever from Kirriemuir.)
4. (Saint John's) Night on a Bare Mountain - Rimsky-Korsakov (Scariest music ever composed - should be in way more horror movies.)
5. The Sun'll Come Out Tomorrow - from 'Annie'. (Second scariest tune ever composed - and sung by terrifying unblinking Midwich Cuckoo 'child'. Ugh - shivering just thinking about it.)

I saw Alice Cooper on Halloween, and a couple years later I saw Tom Waits on Halloween, so there music say Halloween to me, even though it is only tangent to it.

I really like Marilyn Manson's version of "This is Halloween." In fact, my daughter just performed at the local Halloween festival yesterday, dancing to that song. She was dressed up as Goth Raggedy Ann. Black & white outfit, with black rag doll hair, black and white scary face. We made a little girl's stick horse for her but the head is a horse skull instead of a horse head. I'll upload a pic on my profile. Sometimes I'm so crafty I scare myself.

last week, the Dr. Demento show on radio was dedicated to halloween and will broadcast part 2 this week. it's on tonight, in fact, in our area of northwest FL on one of the hard rock stations out of Mobile. if interested you could check the website to see if it is available in your area.

Don't you mean witch-AY woman xhoney?

Every Day Is Halloween - Ministry
Dead Man's Party - Oingo Boingo
Lullaby - The Cure
Sympathy for the - Rolling Stones
& the whole "Nightmare Before Christmas" soundtrack

I didn't know there was a Marilyn Manson cover of "This is Halloween"! I want to hear that.

Lodi - those costumes are so awesome! The creepy stick horse was a fantastic touch.
I hope your kids are properly appreciative. My dad tried to make me a ghost costume one year ... you wouldn't think there'd be much room for error there, but oh ... it was just sad.

Yes, Shauna, that's exactlAY what I meant...and Randy, I didn't think you meant it any other way

Although my radio station would never play this song, we mustn't forget Michael Jackson's "Thriller".

Oh they appreciate me. Especially because they know I don't have much time OR talent when it comes to the crafty stuff.

And since we are throwing in songs and keeping with the kids' theme:

"If there's something strange, in your neighborhood, who ya gonna call....?

P.S. My kids just performed Thriller at the Halloween function over the weekend and I'm just DYING for them to teach me.

Speaking of avatars, I was admiring Lodi's, Randy's, Kim's, and Shauna's avatars last night and thinking, I am so tired of looking at these balls...

Wouldn't it be great if us Goldies could have a small selection of avatars to choose from for ourselves?...maybe even one that looks like Stevie Nicks (hint, hint)

I was Stevie Nicks for Halloween last year. I chaperoned a grade school Halloween dance. When they asked me what I was, I said "Stevie Nicks!!!!" And they said "who?"

That's funny LOL...when VH1 was airing Fleetwood Mac's "The Dance" concert some years ago, my girls came running from their room saying, Mom, Mom, come here, quick, you're gonna love this new group! I just died laughing...

Charles and I are transforming into Stevie Nicks and Mick Fleetwood tomorrow

My favorite song for the season would be Grieg's In The Hall Of The Mountain King.

Two versions for your enjoyment.
