I find that if there isn't a chance to guess one without a move I lose interest.

I bail out on a lot of them. I almost bailed out of Halloween (and I'm currently 11)

Just a personal observation...

The ones that bother me most are those with useless clues at the bottom.

For example when the category is Famous Dinosaurs and the clue beneath is "A famous dinosaur."

Long or short puzzles don't bother me, but flying blind does.

I dislike the *really* short puzzles as letter-eaters, but I generally don't care much one way or another. Last night, though, I waited too late to do the unusually lengthy Scary Movie Scenes and kept dozing off. I'd be all "Wow, that really was scareeeezz zzzzz." I'm lucky it didn't time out.

Glad to hear that I'm not the only one who dozes off while doing a puzzle. Working the night shift plays havoc with the results of the 8 p.m. puzzle.

No wonder we all do the puzzles so slow. Guilty as charged

I like most of them, but the ones that annoy me are the ones that are so long that I have to scroll to click on a letter each time. When the screen refreshes, it comes back to the upper starting position, and then to guess the next letter, I have to scroll back down - just a bit, but I still have to go there.

All I care about when doing puzzles is to save my 5,000 points. Seeing some of the FEWEST move totals discourages me from trying to be competitive. Seeing five long puzzles done in 10-15 moves just makes me use all the letters I'm sure of and not make a minor typing error. Sploofus has a lot of psychics !!

I agree with you, Alice. What I do on those is click the F11 key, which hides the tool and status bars so I have a full screen of just the WP and letters. When I finish the really long one I click on F11 again to get that other stuff back.

I've been told that I'm psychotic.

I don't like the ones where people can guess in one move. That's just as a personal preference but also because in those cases all the cheaters can pop the answers with a perfect score and pretend to have been able to do it that well on their own. Anything that gets in the way of cheaters is a good thing.

I like longer ones that are witty, make some sort of sense, or so forth. If it's just long for no particular reason that I usually give up after a while... not because I can't eventually solve it but because it just doesn't seem like it'll give me enough enjoyment for the time investment required.

I like the ones that are easy for me and hard for other people.
