WHAT IS THE EFFECT OF A PERSON'S BAILING ON A QUIZ?

This question isn't meant like "If a tree falls in the forest..." I'm not talking philosophy here. I just quit a quiz after three questions, because I might as well have been reading Greek or Chinese. How does quiting a quiz before the end effect the taker in terms of Sploofactor (if that still exists)? For the quiz author, does it count as someone taking the quiz? This may probably have to be answered by an editor or Justin.

I have been curious about that too as I have stuck quizzes out to the bitter end even though I soon discovered I was over my head or just plain did not like them-only bailed one one, I believe-hate being asked for dates or numbers as believe unless it is a great historically significant event, it is just pure luck if one gets it correct-Linda

Oh Linda, I agree. I absolutely despise the ones that want you to guess dates. I don't those even remotely interesting. No fun trivia there. I can see a quiz having one date related question but I've taken ones where every question was what date blah blah blah. Lame.

As far as I am aware if someone bails from a quiz without completing it then for the quiz author, on their page under 'your quizzes' it does not show up as someone having taken it, btu on the main screen it does.

Sometimes there are descripancies, for example under the quizzes list it may say 94 takers, but the author may look their quiz up and it says 87 takers, which means 7 people have bailed out of that quiz.

I think the quiz author does not recieve any points from someone who has bailed.

And I must confess that I have no idea if it affects the takees sploofactor.

It is my understanding that...unless Justin corrects me, that...

You:

If you bail out of a quiz, or stuff happens and you get booted or locked up, you will get no points. I have 100% confidence in this fact.

You will not be able to go back in at a later date and retake the quiz. Many of us know this all too well.

Editors cannot reset a quiz so you can take it. We can't

Author:

They do not get credit for you taking (part) of a quiz, then exiting for whatever reason. A couple of us tested this on a couple of each other's quizzes.

The number of takers does not change. We learned that at the same time.

Additional. Many sploofusers have noticed that the number of takers can be different from the number in your quiz list directory, and the score on the public page. This is most noticeable with quizzes on the Most Popular list.

I couldn't find the empirical answer, but we all believe it is the difference between people who finished the quiz and rated it, versus all of the people who took it, including those who did not rate it.

I hope this makes sense.

Thanks. My youngest has taken to calling me "Lois" all the time so I decided to embrace it.
