Not a postal employee but my dad lives in Nashville and I visit there quite often. Love the city.

I worked at a postal outlet for a year and a half in high school. Boy do I ever have stories for you. We were not a post office, but a postal shop that also made copies and whatnot. We had this lady come in one time wanting to ship a live frog to her grandson out of state and she couldnt figure out why we wouldn't let her throw the frog in a box, slap a label on it and throw it in the back of a UPS truck. Aside from the fact that it is AGAINST POLICY, I dont think a dead postal frog makes a very good gift.
Oh and this one time this lady wanted me to ship her desktop computer tower and monitor to another state, but she didnt want to pay for the regulation 4" of packing materials that had to surround the equipment on all sides. So after about 2 hours of me arguing with her, my manager said "Fine go ahead and send it however she wants" and he made her sign a paper that released us of any damage liability. Has anyone ever seen a desktop computer with zero padding after it has been processed by UPS? Well, they have packing requirements because your mail is subject to a 4 foot drop. Lets just say.....the lawsuit that she filed didnt hold up in court.
Ok done rambling. I have a ton of interesting stories though.
