For the last 2 days I have not received an email about my TQOTD. Is everyone else still getting that email notice? I realize that there are certainly other ways of getting to the question, but I had come to rely on that email to start my day at the Sploofus site (not that I don't start here anyway). I'm just curious about whether it went the same way as the CONGRATULATIONS! banner for wager winners.

I didn't get them for quite a long time. Now I get them sporadically. At first when it happened I submitted a support ticket and was told I most probably had a "spam" blocker that was picking up Sploofus as spam. Since they do now come sometimes don't believe that is it. Just most likely one of those "computer" mysteries that my mind will never understand. I have gotten quit used to going to the "unanswered Questions" spot and always find them there. Know that doesn't solve your problem just wanted you to know that it was not unique to you-Linda

I wasn't on my e-mail for a couple of days & two TQTD e-mails were sorted correctly but one was down with the spam. I've seen this before, so on my server it sorts differently, at times. Weird, but not a Sploofus problem, so it may be your server. Hope this helps

I don't usually access the QOTD's through my email, but it seems that I receive mine on a daily basis.

it hasn't happened recently but a few weeks ago i had to remind yahoo that Sploofus was something i wanted in my inbox daily.

I hadn't received the last two notices either, but then I checked and found yesterday's in my spam file, so I marked it as not being spam. Today's hasn't arrived at all; we'll see what happens tomorrow.

I always get mine - but I'm already logged in - and never do the QOTD based on the email - so I delete w/o ever looking

Once again I've gotten no notice for TQOTD, and it's not in my spam folder, either. As I routinely check in to Sploofus a few times a day, it's not a problem, but I wonder what's causing it to happen. At least I'm not the only one!

My TQOTD e-mail got placed in the screened e-mail box of my Comcast account on Tuesday, and then I did not get in Wednesday, yesterday or today.

Do any of the other people reporting the problem have Comcast as their Internet service provider?

Any mail I send to friends with Comcast or Bellsouth addresses ALWAYS gets rejected as "spam"......I feel so unwanted! *sniffle*

Interesting. I haven't gotten mine either for maybe 4-5 days? I am also on Comcast.

I picked up a similar support ticket of another member this morning, whose email is also Comcast. I checked back at some of the older Support Tickets about the same problem, and the vast majority are Comcast subscribers. Now this was a very unscientific study, but I am pretty sure we see a pattern here.

As for Comcast - it's all I've ever had as a member. Why would it *suddenly* decide not to give me my email?

I get mine every day - I run my own server but I've never even had to add sploofus as "not spam".

Big providers like comcast, aol, peoplepc, southwestbell, etc - all have various configurations on their mail servers, and if there have been a sudden influx of sploofus members from those providers, it may be that the mail server, NOT being human, sees the messages going all out at the same time, and assume them to be spam (as that is the way spammers operate) - I know we had issues with aol for a long time for this reason.

Two things can be done, if you are not getting your email - get in touch with your provider and say "if you have this email on the spam list - get rid of it - it's not spam" - some providers (like aol) - also have white list mail sending - which means that Justin would have to follow whatever instructions they might give out on how to get the emails approved as not bulk - white bulk list is what I think AOL calls it - it is a PAIN - I've had to do it for several customers - and the provider is not always very friendly or cooperative about it.

My suggestion would be that it would be much easier for subscribers to complain that they are not getting their important email from sploofus - lots of squeaky wheels will get the grease faster that one person / company trying to jump through the hoops.

As a service provider myself, I understand the reason this is put into place - but it makes legitimate companies spend extra time and money to prove themselves NOT spammers because of the millions of idiots out there that are.

ANYWAY - that may be a more in dept explanation than you were looking for - but it is probably the most accurate - you can try to make sure that you don't have a spambox on comcast as well - if you do - check it and see if your sploofus mail has gone there - and then follow whatever instructions they might have to put it on your white list (I'd do that first before I contacted your subscriber company)

It's been five days email. I went to the Comcast message center and checked my spam and there was none from Sploofus. I checked my antivirus (Avast)...none there. I think I'm just out of the loop.

Okay, I just spoke to Comcast, and sent the form that Sploofus needs to fill out to since I had no idea where else to send it. If anyone else has a better idea, let me know, since we've searched the site for an email address.

Robin... I think you are saying that there is not a particular place to contact Sploofus. I made a post about this as the other day as could not login and could not figure out how to contact anyone at Sploofus. I finally created another account via my Hotmail account so I could submit a support ticket-imposible to do if not logged in. I received no answer to my post so am asking again how can a member contact Sploofus if they cannot login?? Second accounts are not permitted so I hope my second account is now deleted-there just has to be a way--Linda

I hate to bump this, but does anyone know an email address that would work to get this form to Sploofus? It's ridiculous that I don't get my daily email...for three weeks now!

All email providers use Spam filters to limit unwanted messages being delivered to their users. The filters use a list of known spam sites as a method of eliminating junk mail. If the Spoolfus site has been put on the list then all of their email will be blocked by a number of email systems.
Our local police department had been put on the list because a spammer had hijacked their system to send out a batch of junk mail. So much of their outbound email was being blocked by a number of providers. Our schools were not receiving any of their emails until we "white listed" them on our spam filter.
My guess is Sploofus has been black listed as a spammer.

My son has Comcast and his e-mails stopped also. Then two days ago he recieved all of them ,around 8 or 10 TQOD in one day. Then mine stopped Two days ago. I don't have Comcast. Weird....

I have not received them at all this week. I use GMail, and the messages are not in the SPAM folder. I did send in a support ticket.

Mine too. I said earlier that I have Comcast, which is true, but my email is AOL and they were still coming until today. I'm thinking maybe we've reached some magic membership number that has caused the big providers to see the mailing itself as a spamming, and then to block it at the source? Kaelin, you know about these things, does that make any sense?

I'm complaining to AOL.

I'm yahoo mail for sploofus. I can't imagine all of a sudden EVERYBODY'S email service decided to block sploofus. If they haven't figured out I don't want a penis enlargement, I'm pretty sure they wouldn't see sploofus as a threat.

Or is it?

i use yahoo for email and the last time i received my sploofus email was 12-11-07.

i just noticed an editor posted on 'hotwire' that sploofus is working on the problem. they posted a link to find TQOTD easily. thanks!
